I am new at this but I was interested in learning the trade of working on and building guitars from the ground up. Any suggestions on where to learn?

Google is your friend. There are schools just for this or, suck up to a tech who might take you under his or her wing or, buy some books on the subject and experiment on cheap, "throw away" guitars.

There are several books out there. There is the internet as well. Much of you knowledge is gonna come from hands-on experience. Buy a cheapie guitar to experiment on. Take it apart and put it back together. Switch out parts. Learn to intonate on it. Squire has a Bullet series for under $100 that is great to rip apart and put back together.

Also check local music shops. We have one that holds classes in building a solid body electric and classes in building a acoustic where they supply all the materials needed for the class.
