I like a white light Bordeaux wine.

Maybe cognac later...?

What's your poison?

Ice Tea! Maybe a little red wine! :) I know you're supposed to have white wine with poultry!

Not necessarily white if the poultry is roasted - particularly if you are teaming it up with some strong flavors like sage, chestnuts, giblets, etc. I like a red zinfandel or a pinot noir with some legs... for those at my table who like a white, there is usually a reisling to be had.

And yes, Mike, cognac or armagnac later is always a wonderful thing!

I did not go to work today. Instead I did some chores and some shopping. At the liquor store I bought some Gin and Lillet (among other things) ... so I will say that the "James Bond Martini" and/or Pomegranate Martini are a nice Thanksgiving (adult type) beverage. They have gone over quite nicely this afternoon!!

Mrs Orvilleowner is going to use some Bourbon in a Pecan/Chocolate pie recipe we recently came across (from the US television show "Good Morning America"). I'll let y'all know how it turned out.

hot cider...
... but back before i started losing fights with mr. john daniel, a shot in a glass of hot cider was mighty tasty, and ohhh so nice on a cold november night.
me and mr daniel remain distant friends... but all we share right now are memories... some of which i can't remember ;)

Since we are talking about beverages, what can our European members tell me about Lillet?

Any usage pointers or good stories?

I took a wine class about a million years ago and I was told Gewurtstraminer is a good wine to go with turkey. That said, I'm staying with my old standby -- Guinness !! :D

Happy Holiday !!
