"White Christmas" is quite nice, but you'd expect nothing less from Irving Berlin.

I like "Blue Christmas" also.

And "Green Christmas" from Barenaked Ladies' "Barenaked for the Holidays," and The Grinch soundtrack. I'm a mulit-coloured Christmas kind of guy.

BNL did some nice holiday songs on that record - Hanukkah and Christmas.

"Do They Know It's Christmas?" is another favourite (and another one BNL recorded for the holiday record).

The Kinks' Father Christmas is a favorite of mine. And, it's even timely once again!...

Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song

:D

Undoubtedly the best Christmas song ever! It was written by Mel Torme and he actually released it first. It didn't succeed until Nat King Cole sang it on TV for his Christmas Variety Show.

NKC has (in my opinion) the best sounding, most natural God given talent I have ever heard. He doesn't have to force his voice or even project. He opens his mouth and Heaven spills out.

Wow, you'd think I owned the rights to his music or something! :)

The funniest I ever heard was this version of Blue Christmas which was sung by a Porky Pig impersonator which used to be played on WAAF out here in the R.I./Boston area every year. The artist's name was Seymore something, I can't remember his last name, and the Swine. If you ever heard it you would laugh your $@! off.

Yesss!! I have that on my ipod. No idea who it is, but I have it and it's funny as hell :)

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas as sung by Judy Garland

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cC9o4oYMIqI

This is especially moving if you put yourself in the context of WWII and hear it the way people heard it back then. Best non-religious Christmas song ever.

I think my favorite religious carol is What Child Is This?

How topical - this guys got his own signature strat!

And of course, here's one by my favorite band that I'm always banging on about! The Raveonettes!

Of course, you could just play your usual favorite records and shake some sleigh bells and the begining and end!

I agree and Angus rocks on guitar with 'em!

I heard a very cool new Christmas CD today....hard to believe it when you see the song listings, but it's a fine recording :
