There have been a couple of threads on these already and yes, the price has gone up by $50...

I know there is massive love for the new logo, but ... not from me. I don't know if the overwelming love is because the "made in Mexico" is now on the back. I could care less about that. I just think the silver "Fender" looks better than the new ... alot better actually. Just my opinion...

I like the new logo, but I still like my MiM Strat better. Although, if they come out with a Std. Strat that has a 70's headstock, I'm gonna cave.

Food for thought:

I remember when I bought my first new Stratocaster back in 1969. I had to have one of the brand new ones. You know, with the large headstock and the big, bold logo and it's lettering. I was not alone. No one wanted any of the "old" ones anymore like I had as they had that small, conservative headstock and that small, conservative writing with that weird, twirly written Fender logo.

well, my buddy larry has a 75 american telecaster, and i have an el-telecaster... no big differences to speak of. if the new strats follow suit, which i assume they would, you'll be a happy guy, and maybe have a little cash left over for a strap and that screamin' blues overdrive pedal :)

The new headstock is ok. At a glance on this site, the logo looks all black, which makes it looks very Squier-like and cheap to me.

At least they don't have that hideous, huge 70's headstock that looks like a swedish prostate massager.

New Mexico is making Strats? Just kidding, I like the new Logo. Not keen on the new prices; however, the price is still pretty cheap compared to some other brands out there. I guess the inflation bug has hit Fender as well.
