Yes and no. They have guitars like the American Deluxe which come with a hardcase but cost 1200 plus. If you have a lot of experience then that is a good deal. They also have Squier Standard strats that cost about 200 and you can get a case for less than 100. In fact I was at GC yesterday and they have a RoadRunner tweed case for 60 bucks. The display had a whole bunch of stuff in the case but that may have been to show what a full case looks like because it was clearly at least 100 dollars of stuff. I can't imagine that it would be included with the case. But maybe it is. You should go and check. They have many guitars and many cases, you'll probably have to put them together unless you want to spend 800 or more.

The Fender American Standard is supposed to come with the new improved and very nice hard shell case. Great guitar with a great case. Though, from my understanding G.C. tends to separate some of the guitars that come with cases. I must assume G.C. does this to make the guitar price to seem more attractive.

I just checked their website, it said it comes with a case...I would just would double check.

You can't go wrong with the new improved flagship guitar.

I believe that the American Standard, and American Deluxe come with a hardshell case at the Guitar Centers near me. The MIM Standards, Tele, etc, come with a gig bag.

Fender guitars at lower price points are supplied with gig bags as opposed to hard shell cases. It is an all inclusive price.

When I bought my American Deluxe Telecaster last month at Guitar Center, it came with a hardshell case. For some reason though, they charged both the guitar and case separately on the receipt - but the price added up to the price tag on the guitar and it was in fact the case that shipped with the guitar.

As it was explained to me several weeks ago, it is because there are purchasers who opt out on the purchase of the case, and they require a price for each.

When I bought my American Deluxe Strat, the total came up to $1,200. That was for both the guitar and the case. Perhaps Guitar Center is willing to sell the separately, if one chooses to do that. My Guitar and case were shipped together as one unit.

I was once in Guitar Center, and I saw the new style SKB case that comes with the American Standard, and the American Deluxe, on sale separately. Seems they were willing to sell the guitar case all by itself, to anyone who walked in, and needed a case. The molded case Had "Fender" (The official Logo) on it. I remember asking if I could buy that case all by itself. I was told, "yes".

The new Fender/SKB cases are available as a separate item, but GC and MF don't seem to have them on their websites.

Take someone with you who knows what they're doing because from my experience with GC, a lot of the salespeople are out to make a buck at your expense so be careful.

Very true, and they will try to give you the wrong case/gigbag and say it was an accident.
But there are some really good guys that work there that will look out for you.
Six of one, half dozen the other.

When I bought my Strat, it was billed like this:

Guitar - $500
Gig bag - $40

I had it for 10% off, otherwise it would have been $560 and $40.

If I had known they were separate, I wouldn't have bought the gig bag, since I ended up buying a hardshell case anyway.

If you browse Musician's Friend, Music123, or Guitar Center's website, they all show which guitars come with cases or bags. As a rule of thumb, though:

Basic Epiphones, Fenders - nothing
High-end Epiphone/Elitist - hardshell
Deluxe Fender - gig bag
Fender American - hardshell case
under $1000 Gibson - gig bag
over $1000 Gibson - hardshell case

Occasionally you'll see a random guitar that comes with a case, but they're not consistent.

I'll tell you what I did. I bought a MIM Telecaster a couple of weeks ago and bought a tweed covered hard case for it. Both from GC. The guitar was $371.00 out the door with a 10% discount coupon and the case was $66.00 out the door tax included. The whole thing came out to less than $450.00. I thought it was a great deal. Only American Standard Teles and Strats come with hard cases at GC.

'Have found they will work with you on differential between included gig bag and hardshell. And SKB cases are outstanding and not pricey.

Personal experience with GC Villa Park, Illinois is well beyond excellent, for more than a decade, straight. The complaints heard here are bewildering; some other stores may not be as professional.

Happy shopping; there are a lot of great guitars to be had at exceptional prices.
