Fender is "My" Guitar Brand and I love my three Strats Beacause they Sound Great and They can take it, even though I Own and Play a Gibson Nightawk. The Gibby Crunches up, nails the Brown Sound and Woman Tone, and really sustains. But I was at Band practice tonight, and we decided to give Roadhouse Blues a Whirl, we all knew it, but we hadn't played it together yet. After a really good improv jam I wanted to bang it up against the Amps and slide it across the floor on its face. I stopped short because I pictured the set neck breaking or unsetting, or the thin Maple top splitting near the selector switch, or the headstock cracking.....

If I'd been playing my Strat at the time I'd have knocked it right up against my Amps, smacked the neck a couple times and then sent it across the floor on it's face. (Do Not Try This At Home!!!! For The Love of Mike, Do Not try This At Home!!!)

Strats are the small block chevy of the guitar world. You can get anything you want to do anything you want with one.

i've played other guitars for a gig if i did'nt have my fender (theres a picture of me somewhere playing a gibson) and at those times i was just grateful to have a guitar to play,my first choice has always been fender. sound, feel, looks, playability, vibe, all of the above and probably more.

'No particular brand loyalty.

That said, Fender has (from this picker) earned shopping and repeat-shopping for their products because of excellent, applicable products.

'Agree, the Fender look, feel, vibe, sounds, prices are a for-certain winning musical combo platter.

Sometimes, 'will sit down with one and just marvel at how it came to be and how totally cool it is.

I simply love the sound of the single coils of tele and strat.
also the strat is so confortable you could play it for days and days, i don't realy think teles and les paul are so confy... in gibson i love the sg, to me it feels just like the strat but a new sound.
but each player is a player and each player has his likes and deslikes so it's up to you

It's funny but I see a lot of similarities in the whole Fender "lifestyle" idea as I do the Harley Davidson lifestyle concept ... not that they're the same but rather how both companies have worked to build a brand image.

They (Tele and Strat) just feel right to me.

Plus I love the look and the sound of them. I have a friend who's a Gibson man (has an LP) which I'll admit sounds great especially through his Marshall but whenever I have a play on it, it just doesn't feel right to me. Plus ever since I was a kid, I never liked the shape of the LP. Always loved the look of the Strat. He's had it for about 10 years and ever since I sold him my strat a year ago, his Les Paul sits there gathering dust. So I think I've converted him.

When I had my Strat (MIM Standard) for some reason I convinced myself that the stock pups were rubbish. I think I was just looking for an excuse to fit Texas Specials which sounded great. I now have a MIM Standard Tele which I love (not quite as comfy as the strat) but I love the look and the sound and the way the neck feels.

That's why I went Fender.

For reasons I could not begin to explain, I have always thought there were 3 things that were iconic of the American lifestyle: Harley-Davidson, Jeep, and Strat. I own a Jeep and a Strat, but the Harley I will never own. My outlook has changed somewhat over the last few years. I now have 2 beautiful children who love and adore me and I them. The potiential loss involved with a motorcycle are just not worth it. Also why I quit drinking.

So now my 3 iconic things are KIDS, Jeep, and Strat and I have em all. How lucky am I?

I'm just too lazy to reach all the way to the other side of the headstock to tune the G, B and high E. :P

On top of that, Fender guitars sound awesome and look cool. And the contours of the Strat and Jazzmaster fit my rotund belly very comfortably. Fenders pretty much kick azz all the way 'round!

+1 on that and yea i dont know any other guitar that sounds like a fender strat. fenders are amazingly distinguished from others in my opinion

I had a chopped Harley years ago, I`m driving Jeeps since 1979 and have a few Strats. But one accident at 50 mph with the Harley was enough to end that interest. All it takes is a mistake on someone elses part and you can be ruined for life, thats if your lucky enough to come out of it like I was. Bikes offer no protection and the people on the rice burners doing 80 mph think their on a toy. ( Sorry for going off topic )

Jazzmaster (and other Fenders) and Jeep, here. 'Just dig the products and vibe, no particular absolute loyalty. But hip brands / stuff and fun to be with.

Wife is an orthopedic surgical nurse and there's a rehab facility near home. Motorcyclists should, as a pre-license qualification, visit that sad place of motorcycle-victim para and quadrapelegics and people missing whole or parts of limbs. Or their disfigured faces. Just heartbreaking.

You pick out that one fender out of a dozen that really sounds the way you want it to.
The added benefits;
-almost bombproof.
-you can get parts just about anywhere.
-the Strat is the most comfortable design and is the most copied design in the industry.
-the trem, too many guitar gods that stand out because of it.

I've got;
Squier w/parts from STRAT and BULLET, '05-'06.
All-parts swamp ash body, CBS neck, two Dimarzio pups.
'85 Les Paul Studio w/ PAF 200Mv in rhythm position.
