That would be a question you should ask your local Luthier(guitar service technician). If it's a Fender Guitar, make sure they are an authorized repair shop. It realy depends on what you want the frets to be refretted with and what kind of nut you want. The last one I had refretted cost me $150. The guy did a nice job, better than when I bought it new. Hope this helps a little.

The guy I go to here near LA charges this (from his Web site):

Dress and recrown frets (Level all fret surfaces and restore shape, sand and buff) 88.00
Refret and resurface fingerboard 188.00
Refret over binding 198.00
Setup w/ purchase of fretwork 38.00
Fabricate string nut (bone or graphite) 58.00
Fabricate string nut (brass) 78.00

He is Fender authorized, won't oversell and always goes above and beyond the "requirements" of any job. Also, anything that would need adjusting can be brought back (within reason) at no charge.

Those seem very reasonable prices. Let's hope the OP, AustenWade is near LA!

So far every price that I have gotten is significantly less than what I just paid. Problem is that I have been going to this guy for a while and I trust his work so I know that he will do an awesome job, I just feel ripped off for the price.

It's embarrassing to say but I paid $375. The job was to remove the old frets and put on new (bass type) frets, and, due to the hight of the new frets, to replace the nut... which was extra... on top of the 375. It just makes me sad to think about it. I essentially could have gotten it done cheaper somewhere else but the other place that does this type of job in the area has royally screwed up a friend of mines strat on something as simple as a pro setup. I'll just bite the bullet and try to find another repair shop for any future work that I might need to get done. I shouldn't need anything after this.

I've recently got a quote of about $350. It seems to be about the price around here (San Francisco Bay Area). Now keep in mind, prices in this area, for all things are usually higher than the rest of the country.
