A portion of the new Springsteen tune, "Workin' On A Dream" will make its premiere on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins tonight (November 16th)

A segment of the song will be played during a halftime package of football highlights. Bruce and his E Street Band will also be the halftime entertainment at Super Bowl XLIII on Feb. 1 in Tampa, Fla.

Musicians are looking for new ways to promote their work these days. The whole music business paradigm has shifted. What ever that means.

It means Ipods are everywhere. The CD format is deathly ill.

The industry is still trying to figure out how to sell product.

Or even IF they should sell product. One business plan uses recorded music as an advertisement for bands to sell tickets to their live shows and to sell 'merch' like tee shirts and thongs with the band's name on them. Music is quickly becoming merely a comodity. I never thought I'd live to see the day . . .

The latest paradigm shift is to video games (Guitar Hero & Rock Band). For established bands, they proactively integrate their new releases with these video games, because the games are more profitable than selling CDs or iTunes. Scary...

I missed it! I thought there would be a sample on his website or MySpace page, but I can't find anything. CD comes out in late January.

Google the song title - Workin' On A Dream - some clips on YT - not as good as on studio version, but you get to hear some harmonies.
