I have been having issues with my DSL internet connection for the past 2 weeks. It has finally quit. Repairs are pending. I have a temp fix in place, but I'm not sure how long or often I will be on.
If you do not hear form me much during the next few days (repairs scheduled for Wednesday) that is the reason.

I had that problem a while back, turned out to be my connection to the phone socket needed a quick fix. I had things going in the wrong way round, a small oversight on my part.
Anyway hope you fix it ok.

I had a problem with my DSL about 3 months ago.

When I would log on, it would go extremely slow like dialup or not even work at all.
I remembered about two days before my computer did one of those automatic updates for Windows.

I called my DSL and everything seemed to be fine cable modem wise.
(cable used to help me with Windows problems, but not anymore. Doesn't seem like any companies do more than they have to anymore)

I called Microsoft and talked to India. They said the new XP Service Pack 3 doesn't like the internet browser add-ons.

So I went into my browser and turned off all the add-ons. I then called my cable company and they remotely reset the modem. And then, all was fine with the world.

I still don't know which add-ons XP SP3 doesn't like. I've turned on a few add-ons as I need them, but I still have some turned off.
