On second look it might find some application, in a pinch, with respect to the opening of beer cans :P

Hey Doc probably as good as a belt buckle on a bottle :D

I like Stratocasters. I do not like this EVH Frankenstein...but I am sure it sounds great. Eddie needs the money, I guess. I know it as been a dream of his to make his own guitars.

The mystique in ANY guitar (especially one exactly like your favorite or a well-respected artist) is NOT really in the guitar, but the sounds that musician gets from HIS/HER axe. We buy into it and actually believe that we will achieve the same results if we own it. Sadly, this is rarely the case simply because we probably aren't plugged into the same amp(s) and F/X that person uses AND it's doubtful their technique and style can be duplicated without serious woodshedding and as much talent. If that does it for you and you can perfectly impersonate the songs in your cover band, I'm happy for you....... and good luck in Vegas.

However, when you really see how those guitars came to be, you'll notice that, for the most part, those artists took a standard axe and did mods that where specific to THEM and their ear. It was their talent and originality that made them famous and thus, any mods were copied and offered to the public. I don't care how much you pay for a guitar, if it doesn't have YOUR name on it, you'll never actually own it OR the talent that put the signature on it either, no matter how good you are. You won't be THAT good (or considered to be) until Fender makes one with YOUR mods and your signature.

Therefore, support your favorite guitar slinger, buy his/her duplicated axe and make the Custom Shop people happy to boot. No doubt your stage dreams will improve and your ego will get a boost as well. Play on......

There are collectors as well as guitar players that buy their favorite artist guitars. I stood beside some guitars last week that meant something to me and I know I won't play like Bucket Head or John 5 or Richie Sambora but I still would like to have those guitars as well as an EVH. You will hear them when you strum that guitar. It is their imprint. But you are right Guitarman1117 we will never get close playing like any of them. All we can do is try and learn the crumbs that they throw at us on one of their songs.

Anyone notice the headstock on the new EVH. I think it is more of a tribute to his buddy Dimbag.
