What should I get? I was thinking about the Big Muff Pi or the Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face. If there are any other good fuzzes please tell me.

I use a Big Muff pi driven by a TS-9/808 Ibanez from Analogman and I like it, I'm sure they're a lot of other opinions out there!

If you're looking for a '60s kind of fuzz, the two suggested above are very good. If you're looking for distortion, there are better choices.

The Inferno from Blackbox Electronics is the best fuzz I've played.

Fuzzes are kind of like overdrives, because sometimes its hard to pick just one. It really also depends on what you want to do, and what type of setup you have. Fuzz pedals work better with tube amps. The Fuzz Face has 2 transistors, the Muff has 4, so if you want a big *ss wall of fuzz, get face down in the muff...If you don't really want too much fuzz, go for the fuzz face. If you can though, I suggest trying out as many as you can, especially if you go vintage, because vintage models of both those fuzzes can sound different from one another depending on year of production and what parts were used in the production, cause there have been some various circuit and component changes with vintage models for both of those pedals...So you could have 3 different vintage muffs or fuzz faces and there is a possibility that none of them will sound alike...thats kind of the magic and the madness with fuzz pedals...One of my favorites is the DOD Classic Fuzz...I also like the Big Muff and ToneBender, but not really into the fuzz face as much, but then again, I prefer the big wall of fuzz busting out yer speakers....

The Barber Trifecta will cover all the fuzz bases.

Very cool box when you run it through any Fender tube amp.

I have also been looking in to adding a fuzz to my lineup. If you are leaning towards the dallas arbiter I would check out dunlop's Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face - for $50 dollars more than their red fuzz face you get a handwired pedal with the highly acclaimed BC-108 silicon chip in it and true-bypass. However I am leaning towards the MXR M173 Silicon Fuzz which is basically the same thing (probably not handwired) in a more compact case, the ability to be powered by battery or adapter (the JH Fuzz only allows a 9-volt battery), and a buffer switch to help kill the oscillation when it is used with a wah pedal. I'm sure there are some better fuzz's out there but they cost much more. If you are leaning towards the Big Muff Pi, make sure you go with the US model, the black model w/yellow labeling that I played was just cheesy.
