That's great news, Ceri, and thanks for the update!

btw, I did have a pic taken in a chemo infusion room with my forum lounge tee, but decided it wasn't worth posting.

Best wishes :!:

Hi, thanks Mike. I have felt particularly conscious that my own little drama in no way approaches the seriousness of yours.

Hopefully the spotlight can now return to where it belongs: there is something particularly life affirming about your willingness to share your journey for the benefit of others, as well as the warmth everyone feels towards you.

Watchimg your progress all the time and wishing you the best possible outcome. The last cycle is getting closer fast now!

Best luck to you - C

Well done mate. Drat i was planning on dropping you a mp3 player and some mags in later in the week on my trip to the smoke. I really wanted to glance the figure hugging garment clad nurses. :D

Still im glad your well mate. Like i said earlier a uncle of mine had a arachnoid cyst some years back. Its symptoms caused all the drama you experienced too. He's been fine since it was treated.
Dont sweat it mate/ :D

Ceri when you read this, know that I wish you well and any misfortune that has befallen you would take is miserable manifestation to the deepest part of the deep blue sea & drown it's self. Good luck & God bless you.

Snowy, Rhumba, Niki, Sparky: thank you all so much for your kind thoughts. It really is gratefully appreciated - ain't it a great Forum?

Niki, those mags and mp3 player will still be very welcome! Though so happens this all happened in Devon, not The Smoke. As it happens, Mr Telebass was about 15 miles up the road - but he didn't see me waving from my 8th floor window...

Cheers, you excellent guys - C

My professional degree is dental. I also hold a Master's degree in education. I have 6 years of advanced training in hospital based practice, three as a resident and three as a full time attending and assistant director of service. This dates back many years since I've been in that environment. I have advanced training in oral pediatrics, oral geriatrics, oral medicine and orofacial neuroscience. My practice experience deals mostly with individuals who present w/complex medical histories. Hence it most appropriate that I have a working knowledge of diverse medical issues relevant to patient care and be able to interface with other confreres when necessary to develop and carry out appropriate treatment planning. By virtue of my training, I approach what I do from the standpoint of a head and neck, or ENT based practitioner, not exactly the kind of 'dentist' you may be more familiar with. Much closer to the preparation of an oral surgeon. To bring it close to home, a patient such as Mike would precisely the kind of individual I would feel comfortable managing should the occasion arise.

Presently, I am out of private practice and kind of coasting in a general dentistry environment but many of the patients I encounter have the usual ailments of aging: high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, stroke, diabetes, joint replacements, anticoagulation therapy, HIV, Hepatitis C,
liver diseases, kidney failures...the gamut. I also teach 10 hours a week at New York University's dental school. Some 15 years ago I was involved in a faculty practice at the medical center with an appointment in the Department of Neurology and we focused our attention and research on patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson's Disease.

With all that, I've played a bit of rock music in my life. I was anointed 'zzdoc' by a patient of mine when he learned about my music past. 8)

Thanks for the background Doc! I've always wondered. You are a very learned man!

Ceri! It is good to know that you are okay and that things are looking up! I am sorry I didn't post earlier, but I was wallowing in my own pathetic existence all weekend! :)

I am sure you are grateful to be home.

By the way, did the pictures of your brain look anything like this?

I was about to make a post concerning your disappearance into the hospital, but as I read on, I saw that you're back already. Anyway.....I'm glad to hear it's not quite as serious as it first sounded. I'll keep my fingers crossed (and even a few prayers) for you.

P.S. I phoned Mick Jagger and told him of your situation, and that you're now out of the hospital.

Great news Ceri - I'm glad they didn't have to go mess with your head.

Take care,
