If they are recent the serial number.
American Standard, and HighWay1 the serial starts with an Z____
Th American Deluxe the serial starts with a D___

MiM's start with an M____

Don't know what the Signature Series (American), Artist Series (MiM), Custom Shop, and Asian ones start with.

IMHO: Actually I don't think it matters which series you get, the internal electronic components are not made in North America. :(

This is a good resource to keep handy - print it out.

Yeah, thanks for the replies, i had seen that link already but again, i'm more wanting to know which series are american made, not really searching to track down year it was made, although that is handy to have. I just thought it should show on the spec sheets when looking on a product page and it doesn't. Like Artist series, for instance, is every artist guitar made in USA, or are some MIM, MIJ, etc...

thanks.

Modern Fender Parts numbers look like - Country-Model-Color

So look for models that start with either 010 or 011.

Example, my VG Strat is part number 011-7502-755

Made up of:

011-7500-(Color #) and 011-7502-(Color #)

Finger Board Rosewood (p/n 011-7500) or Maple (p/n 011-7502)

(700)* 3-Color Sunburst, *add $50.00,
(706) Black,
(755) Blizzard Pearl, (Maple Fingerboard Only),
(Urethane Finish)

It would be nice if they put it in the Specs directly - but they don't.

Fender Country Codes

010 USA
011 USA
013 Mexico
025 Japan
026 Korea
027 ?

Squier has even more codes:

030 India ?
031 Indonisa
032 China

Some of Artist series are made in the US.

Everything that the Fender Custom Shop makes is made in the US unless indicated otherwise.
