Ok, this is for all the gamers on this forum... (though, I'm really not expecting many)

What video game has the best soundtrack? You know, Madden, Tony Hawk's, or even some with original soundtracks. I dunno, you pick.

My answer would be 1080 Avalanche.
It's got great peices (in my opinion) like Fine Again- Seether and some great tracks from a band that never really made it big (from what I know) called Cauterize.

So anyone else got any?

*Edit* - And I don't mean Guitar Hero/ Rockband

I'd have to go with QUAKE 2 for the PS1. Metal, metal, metal, blood & guts, more metal, more blood & guts, pieces being blown everywhere, more metal...Well you get the point!!!

The first Tony Hawk game had the Dead Kennedys on the soundtrack, other than that, I don't know cause the last game platform I bought was a Sony Playstation, before they shortened it to PS and started putting numbers after the name...

Haven't played any games in quite a few years, so this will date me but -- I always liked some of the tunes in Duke Nukem. In fact, I still have a copy of "Grabbag" sitting on my computer somewhere and I believe a few were including on a long ago compilation of game tunes.

Now that gives me a weekend challenge -- find the file and then learn to play it. Great way to test out my newish Tube Screamer 808 ... perfect tune for a bit of warm overdrive!

Strangely enough I'm playing Final Fantasy the Crystal Chronicles for the heck of it, I'm in this swamp level and I can't help but to keep myself from playing "Gator Country" by Molly Hatchet.

Instrumentally, I thought the game's soundtrack was well done, but the style is just not my cup of tea. Go figure. :P
