Diebold, the electronic voting machine maker, suffered another sharp setback recently, when Maryland's House of Delegates voted 137-to-0 to drop its machines and switch to paper ballots. The vote came in the same week that Texas held elections marred by electronic voting troubles. Maryland's State Senate should join the House in voting to discontinue the use of the Diebold machines, and other states should follow Maryland's lead.

Maryland was one of the first states to embrace Diebold. But Maryland voters and elected officials have grown increasingly disenchanted as evidence has mounted that the machines cannot be trusted. In 2004, security experts from RABA Technologies told the state legislature that they had been able to hack into the machines in a way that would make it possible to steal an election. Senator Barbara Mikulski, a Democrat, informed the State Board of Elections in 2004 that voters had complained to her that machines had mysteriously omitted the Senate race.

They are supposed to have fixed them. I AM SURE THEY FIXED THEM
Now they use the Diebold Accuvote-TS just another Diebold
 :shock:The last Election they found that a bunch had 2000 votes already cast on them before the polls opened

I voted (this is my 5th presidential election in which I've voted) about 2P.M. this afternoon and was in and out in about 5 minutes and I don't just vote straight party lines either. Guess you can tell that I live in the sticks huh? 8)

Thats fast Shreddin, when we go to the polls as a family tonight it will take an hour or so. On my local Reps I never seem to vote for the Winner anymore because Cville was a victam of redistricting a few years ago its a very conservative area and alway voted that way so the prevalent party who has run the State for most of the last 50 years split us three ways so that the Reps that were getting Elected from our area no longer stand a chance. Ther are some important things on the Ballot State wide though like letting people vote where ever they want  we already let non US Citizens Vote with the Motor Voter scam because anyone can get a Licence in MD you just need to show two bills to where you live it does not matter if you are legal or not. They even tried to put Voting machines in the Jails last year.
