So, maybe for Hanukkah i get money, and i might go for a wah-wah pedal, or (a) new pickup(s).

I want any of the wahs shown above, and explain your choices as best as you can. I am pretty sure i will just have enough money for these. I like Hendrix-y and Clapton-y kinda stuff; basically blues and blues/classic rock.

I just bought a Dunlop Crybaby Classic (GCB95F) about a month ago. Good bang for buck. I had a GCB95 Original Crybaby years ago and it was good, but the classic is better. For about 30 bucks more than the original you get the fasel inductor that was used in the old wah-wah's of the sixties & true-bypass switching so that no tone is lost when it is bypassed. You can get wahs with a wider sweep, but it costs twice as much and the Crybaby Classic works fine for me. I am pretty sure the Vox doesn't have true bypass switching either. I would pay the extra 30 bucks and get the Classic - take it from someone who has owned both.

I had a dunlop crybaby for a few years before it zonked out on me. I replaced it with a Vox 847 (w/o the adapter jack) and it's worked perfectly for me for almost 9 years. I don't know firsthand how the 847A sounds in relation to the USA 847. I've heard that the 847 sounds better.

Check out a BBE Sound Wah. The sound is build around a Halo inductor that has been re-engineered and customized to enhance the expressive vocal tones, and it features harmony and wah controls (that improve the dynamic sweep response and customizes the wah sound), on/off LED status and true hard-wire bypass.

I've heard the Crybaby and the Vox are pretty similar. I have a Morley that I trashed on some thread in these forums. After letting it collect dust for 3+ years, I plugged it in, put it through its paces and was pleasantly surprised. It sounded much better and had a fuller tonal range than I remember. Maybe I'll dust off a few more pedals and give 'em another go.

Ok, I chose the Rocktron, mostly because I was planning to buy it as well. Also, it's got some good versitility, from what I've read. But don't think I've played or tried it.

Vox. Or Crybaby. Or...

Very quiet on the Forum today, ain't it?

I guess you're all off standing in lines...

Cheers - C

I've got the Vox, but you really need to go to the shops and try them out for yourself.
Hear what each sounds like and decide what you like the best, everyone's ears are different :D

I personally don't like any of those wah's, and I've used them all. My pick would be either a Budda wah, or a Morely Bad Horsie, both of which I love.

If you really wanted to get a great wah wah pedal, I would probably go for
an Ibanez wh-10. It costs a lot on Ebay since it was discontinued, but
it is one of the best out there.
