I took a few lessons from him at the Interlochen Guitar Institute. Great player, super nice guy, and great to hang out with. Inspired me in a lot of ways. Amazing guy all around, and very down to earth.

Also, Drifting was one of the songs he started to teach me how to play. And he gave me "his" tab, the exact way he plays it, which was really cool.

He and a few other great guitar players (Pierre Bensusan, John DiFario, Lionel Loueke, Daryl Stuermer, Ana Vidovic, and others) put on amazing shows at night at Corson Auditorium. It was so great to meet these great guys, learn directly from them in small groups, see them perform shows at night, then party with some of them afterwards. Interlochen is an amazing place. Highly recommended!

dgonz: sounds good! :D I'll have to check out them other names.

It's people like that who inspire me to keep playing when I sometimes can't find the will to push my knowledge any further.

I had a tough ride, had a motorbike crash left me lost of all my guitar playing knowledge at 18, and a couple years ago after all my surgeries had healed & my concentration span was a bit better, I took up playing, and learning, all over again. It's been fun but trying at the same time, re-learning something you KNOW you once knew, but your hands just won't obey what your brain is telling them. :? These types of players truly insire me to keep plugging away at it :D

Great attitude. Seeing and talking to them is great in ways too. You see them on TV or youtube, or hear their recordings and think "That's amazing and would be so hard to grasp". Then you see them play it in front of you, and you're like "Ahhhh, ok. I get it. I can do that if I work on it, now that I see it".

Wow! Thanks for the heads-up. I had not heard of him before. I found a video of him playing a harp guitar which immediately brought Michael Hedges to mind. In case you haven't heard Michael here are a couple of links to check out:

Although Hedges was, and KcKee is a great guitar player, I was never too impressed with the harp guitars. Just a few extra strings to use as a droning bass.

Seems to be just: play some guitar, hit a bass string on the harp, play some other stuff, maybe some open strings on the harp part tuned to a scale for some melody line, play some more.

Much more of a visual novelty than a real "wow, omg that is so amazingly unique" kind of thing. Just a normal guitar with a few more low open strings you.
