I like my TS-9--but I've also heard that they're a bit hard on pre-amp tubes, when everything is dimed or close to it...

I've used ts-9s and ts-10s for over 20 years. Love em. But do yourself a favor and get an analogman modded one like cu_jarrett has or mod it yourself. You will notice the difference if you have a good tube amp.

I use a Tubescreaner clone I built as a clean boost into a fuzz pedal, its a good, versatile OD...

I've got one by Analogman too! Love it. A TS-9/808 silver mod.

Guitar Player mag named the Tube Screamer the all-time best stompbox.

I love my Tube Screamer. I was using a BOSS DS-1 but it sounded like crap through my BJ amp.

Something else, I have been using a MXR M-169 Carbon Copy Analog Delay that works very well with this pedal and the tube amp sound.

Don't overlook Maxon pedals, they used to make the tube screamer pedals that Ibaniz sold under their own brand name until Ibaniz found a cheaper supplier.

I don't own one, but I've tried them at the GC. Great pedal! 8)

I have been wondering about getting that one.. Hmm

I have a regular TS-9 and I think it is great.

Everyone should have one in their arsenal. Mine has the Analogman mods too which do improve the pedal. I like it mostly for leads because of the mid hump. I use other pedals for overdrive when chording to keep the guitar sound more natural than what a TS9 could do.

So there you have it. If you want to sound like every other guitarist in the world, by a Tubscreamer!

I think its a good overdrive pedal, and just because they are popular doesn't mean you will sound like everyone else. How many different musicians use Teles and Strats that don't sound alike? I hate to burst some peoples bubbles, but just because you get or have all the same pedals, guitars, and amps that your favorite player uses, you still may not sound anything at all like your favorite player, because whats in your head, hands, and heart has just as much, if not more, of an affect on your playing than gear does.

Anyways, back on point, I think the Tubescreamer is a very nice and verstatile OD with a number of different uses, sounds, and textures depending on how you tweak the knobs...
