I don't like reading a book if I know the ending. :(

But have fun with this sorry tale!

Very predictable story this one Orv, it didn't surprise me in the least. Good work guys, well done 8)

Yes it's sad, very sad. What gets inside a person to make them do this ?
Is it some overwhelming desire to be accepted by a community ? I kind of took to Eddie in a strange sort of way, he seemed vulnerable, child like and I was stunned when I read these revelations. I feel very sorry for the guy, all of this smacks of desperation to me but we'll probably never know what drove him to this.
Ah well, life goes on and he might have learned something and take an improved version of himself to wherever he goes next.
It's kinda pitiful but hope springs eternal they say.

yes, the vibe I got from him was that he was a young guy.
I did think earlier that he was counting his dad's (or grandpa's) guitars as "his." No telling what was true and what wasn't now.

I like that post: intelligent and empathetic. Quite right, we can't really know what goes on behind the electronic curtain. All kinds of possibilities. We must just raise an eyebrow and move on.

Deeply impressed with everyone's guitar radars on this thread, though...

Cheers - C

Hello,

This is Rick Excellente- and still alive! I'm glad to see there is interest in the '57 Chevy Guitars. I remember this "Special Design" prototype Chevy you have posted.

It has several features which set it apart from the other Showsters that were built during that era... one being the "arrow-headstock" which I used on very few Showster guitars, and the American Showster logo which was overlaid from the rear of the the pickguard, and then silk screened over. It also has the volume knob centered on the lower chrome trim strip, rather than the more common volume knob which was mounted lower on the "rocker panel" ..LOL.

Best Wishes to it's Owner,
Richard "Rick" Excellente

from a couple of months ago claiming to have a bunch of guitars yet no camera to take pictures of them. I found that rather odd and somewhat BS. It is sad that someone has to resort to that. I wonder if he will ever post here again with the reasons behind this.

Well, well, well - I just completed this thread and it looks like the Hardy Boys have solved another crime. Quite a tale indeed!

You should all put the story together and publish it as "Tales from the Forum" ........or.........."Smoke and Mirrors - the Case of Eddies Bogus Fenders".

I don't know why someone would feel the need to try to impress people with fake ownership of his equipment?? :? Unbelievable! It does not take long ( with the combined wisdom on this forum) to reveal them! That is a sad thing. I guess we will have to come up with a way to expose the posers. He owns over 40 guitars, yeah right!!?? Maybe have them put a picture with today's newspaper in the pic. Something!? :x

Oh well......????

Must be a lonely individual!

I just don't see no need for any to be poser we are not all able to have what alain has and that does not matter. Who cares if you have one or ten it does not matter to anyone on this Forum because all get the same respact. I thought it odd when he started the post How Many Guitars You Have And he stated he owned 64 then did not no what many were. Then the strange pics after the it's not real if there not pic's was talked about.

Well I guess they will come and go. I would be proud to own a $150.00 guitar, price / quantity does not matter! :? This is a welcoming forum to all so there is no need for that kind of stuff!

I love this site for this reason...the respect you get whether you are a beginner or an expert. Whether you have yet to own a guitar or you have a roomful of them. We don't need a false person like this in our midst. On a side note, nice detective work. CSI Fender Forum could be the 4th show 8) 8)

Hi Rick, welcome to the Forum. If you've read the rest of this thread you will understand what I'm about to say.

If you are indeed the real Rick Excellente it is a great pleasure to have you amongst us. This may be the Fender Forum, but we're friendly to all cool and eye-catching guitars here. So please feel free to post pictures of your work and discuss - there'll be a lot of interest!

On the other hand, if you are an imposter abusing Mr Excellente's name: well, have a good read through the rest of this particular thread and be aware - you'll be found out!

If you're the real deal you won't mind me saying that... Now: on with the pics, if you please!

:D - C
