I'd like stickers just to cover up the obscenities on my jackson guitar :D
I'm in two minds about catalogues though. My buying is becoming more and more impulsive.

Local Authorized Fender Dealers should have some of that stuff too.

The Frontline catalog in my toilet is looking a bit well thumbed (I think my wife's been reading it!)
I went to the music shop in town and thay told me that Fender didn't send them out anymore!!!! A big shame if true!

Also, I had to take my car with a Fender sticker to the scrap heap!
(I suppose I'll have to buy a new amp!!!)

How about having the Frontline bought back in the old format, where it would come out once a year and be a giant sized issue with every product that Fender puts out for that year? I miss those catalogs.

Yeah, me too. You would be flippin' through pages looking at Fenders' wonderful stuff, and now it's jsut a little old boring catalouge that has somethibg like 9 pages. FENDER, GET THE OLD FORMAT CATALOUGES BACK!!! :( :) 8)

That's right, that used to come once a year with my Guitarist magazine. 2006 is the last year I have; and like Ian's it is very worn now (though kept in a nicer room in the house... Come to think of it, it's on my bedside table right now - get a life, Ceri!).

A valuable resource - if only I had the 2001 edition there's a question on the Strat Forum waiting to be answered.

A great argument for developing the past models aspect of this site, perhaps?

Cheers - C

This has came up in previous threads. The catalog is expensive to produce and Fender seems to feel that the products are readily available to look at online. I am one of the people who look at those catalogs over and over again and many times they have caused me to make a purchase. Looking at the products online just doesn't have that same effect on me. I would even be willing to buy the catalog at a reasonable price every year. For now I'll just keep looking through my old Frontline catalogs.

The 'Net is well on it's way to killing off printed media. It probably started with making all that freebie promotional stuff redundant. Just as it made going to a local 'Mom and Pop' music store redundant--why bother when you can get what you need online--and cheaper?

BTW, when was the last time anyone bought a newspaper? I haven't in over a year. Don't miss it, I get all I need online or on Cable.

Progress!! Means online, now, and likely quite a savings to the company.

Yes, this has come up before. For 2008, Fender still printed a catalog called "Frontline In Store" for use by its authorized dealers. It was made available for sale in the "Products" pages on this site for $10, but I noticed a few months ago it was gone. I assume it's sold out. There was a thread here on the forum where you could post pics of yourself and your favorite Fender. Some of the pics made it on to the catalog's cover. I know some Forum members are on the cover, but I've forgotten who. Don't know if they will make a 2009 edition available next year. I keep mine by the nightstand so I can thumb through and then dream about my next acquisition. G.A.S. is both a joy and a curse.

Perhaps they'll call for a collection of photos of the Gilmour owners of the world for the next issue. It will give Snowy an impetus for further creativity. I would strongly lobby for Ceri's photo as the cover.

As we often say on the Forum, it doesn't exist without pictures.

Er - no, no; cancel that! Please!!

Though really, Ian, I wasn't saying your toilet is not nice. Only that my bedroom is nicer. But maybe we'll leave all that hypothetical, shall we?
