Me thinks he doth protest too much...

I bet really you make it wail and sing like Derek Trucks, Mr Hopkins. Modesty is much nicer than the opposite - but I don't believe a word of it!

 - C

Well I am pretty good on chords , and not power ones, but not so much on lead! Now that's true! Mel Bay style. :)

I believe I have guitar world magazine and although I enjoy it, it's a bit too metal for me. Does anyone have a suggestion for a classic rock/blues/jazz magazine?

I tried a few and for the last while have only been picking up the "Guitar World version with DVD'.
But they are all blending together, the articles all seem to be similar one issue to the next and are mostly about metal and shred.
Not really my cup-o-brew.

Would like to find mags dedicated to the blues and classic rock.

I've been reading Guitar Player for years. The past two years I kicked in the extra $5 to get EQ magazine added to my subscription. I'm doing more home recording now and I'm learning quite a bit from it. I was getting Vintage Guitar, also. I liked it but I let it lapse because I just don't have the time to read them all.

These days I really don't prefer, or can't pick, just one. I don't subscribe these days, I just buy something if the issue has something that interests me. I will say however, Guitar Player at times seems to have the more in-depth and non-biased gear reviews, while Guitar World seems to have more in-depth interviews with newer and up-and-coming artists.

I have subscriptions to:

Guitar Player
Bass Player
Guitar Edge
Acoustic Guitar
Blues Revue

I check out other magazines monthly to see if there is something I find interesting enough to buy that issue.

I just resubscribed to Vintage Guitar mag.

They offered me a year at $14.97 ... about $10 less than the regular subscription rate.

I have a subscription to Blues Revue, also. I really like the CD of Blues music you get about every other issue.
