Does anyone have the new album? If you do have it, is it good? I generally like AC DC but I figured I should wait to purchase it.

I bought it and as a hard core fan, I am dissapointed. it sounds like they're tired and just going through the motions. you would think after 8 years they would be energized.

It sounds okay to me...nothing really new.

I've been really disappointed with the band itself, they're giving Glasgow a miss on their UK tour. It should be called their English tour, it's only three venues in England they're doing! I'm not rushing out to buy the album, maybe santa will bring it to me

It is what it is, an AC/DC album.
They haven't really changed the forumla in the last 25 years. It's got some good tracks and some that are just okay. Overall I like it. I think, if you like AC/DC you'll like it too.

In my opinion, here are their top-4 studio albums in chronlogical order. Interestingly enough, these four studio albums were all recorded back to back of each other:

#2 -- Let There Be Rock: Here is where Angus really began to come into his own as a great lead player. Also (and more importantly) the songwriting had matured significantly yielding tremendous hooks, much deeper grooves, and more in-depth lyrics.

#1 -- Powerage: Here they built on everything they did on LTBR, but taking it even further. This was their pinnacle of songwriting, by far. Every song is truly great. Imaginative lyrics, great grooves, and lots of dynamics between soft and heavy. Unfortunately, the songwriting would take a step backward on the follow-up to this album, Highway to Hell, even though HTH was their most successful album with Bon.

#4 -- Highway To Hell: While not displaying the formidable songwriting of its two predecessors (Powerage and LTBR), this album is still very good. However, it pales in comparison when compared as a whole to Powerage

#3 -- Back In Black: After this intial Brian Johnson-led effort, it was unfortunately all down hill. This album had extremely strong songwriting. Every song was great, with countless catchy hooks. This would be the last "great" AC/DC studio album. The farther you move away from this album, you get more and more of "the singles" and "the filler". The latter being laden down with boring rock cliches, lyrics, and formula riffs.

Yep Bro, they are all great albums. I think 'Powerage' may be my favorite of the bunch.

I thought it was good, nothing remarkable. They stuck to their formula and played it safe.

apparently they were spurred on to create a new album after Airbourne's effort, which I thought was a bit more original than the latest AC/DC album.

airbourne is an Australian rock band with self professed love of AC/DC.

same style, similar sound but to me sounds a bit more fresh than the latest AC/DC album.

Check them out, you might like them.

I picked it up on Monday.

It's great -- all the way through! It's exactly what I expect of AC/DC.

I don't want to hear too much production. I hear a lot of energy.

I agree.
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was the first album that I, by myself, ever bought.
