You're right. Even if you get caught, covered in blood over a dead body, holding a knife....you get your day in court.

^ worked for OJ Simpson  i'm just kidding, i don't know what happened there... as for Bonds though, i do think they need to investigate him, which i think they will do since Bud Selig doesn't seem to care for him too much

Don't even get me started on Selig. He's as much to blame over this as anyone.

Baseball was dying after the strike in '94...that cancelled a World Series!!

Fans weren't back in big numbers afterwards. Selig was desperate to find a way to bring the fans back. Thats why interleague play was started in 97. A gimmick to try and lure fans. (I'm not a fan of interleague play, but thats another thread..)

The fans didn't start to come back until the 98 chase for 70 hr's in a season. Selig, or anyone else in baseball, didn't care if it was fueled by steroids...at least the money was rolling in again! All of baseball turned it's back to steroid use until Congress got involved.

Just for fun, here's a CNN poll about 756:

What is your reaction to Barry Bonds surpassing Hank Aaron's home run record?
Cheer 17% 26143
Jeer 33% 51129
Yawn 49% 75530

Seems most people just don't care.

I think he deserves it. For one they have not proved anything. IF they do then I may feel different. Steroids do not give you hand eye cordination to hit a 100 MPH fastball. It takes talent to hit a ball coming in that fast. And he did it with Pitchers throwing him nothing but garbage for the last 6 years. Steroids may make you bigger but they do not give you the skills it takes to do what he did.

I don't think anyone doubts he's a good player, I think what most people are upset with is the fact that he suddenly got stronger with no explination as to how. I think there needs to be an * by his name if not for the doubt, then because steroids are so rampant in sports today it's just about impossible to tell whether someone is using them or not because (I'm not an expert and I barely follow baseball news) there aren't regular drug tests for steroids. (I believe, I'm not 100% sure)

Hank Aaron is, and always will be, a better player no matter what the stats are because he had to deal with much worse than accusations of steroid use. I don't think many players today would have been able to take the insults and threats I'm sure Aaron recieved during his days and that makes him all the better as not only a player but as a person.

Finally the reason he wasn't at the game was not because of his dislike for Bonds but because he didn't want to take away from the moment and he has a life of his own and can't just wait around at all the games for someone to hit a homerun, he's seen a few himself.

He will never make the Hall because his record is Tainted and now A-Rod is following suite with his admiting to using roids for a few years.

I'm awaiting the release of the other 100+ names. Should be interesting.

It is a crying shame that there is so much scandal and controversy surrounding the game of baseball, America's pastime.

I am a huge baseball fan, and always will be. I used to be an A-Rod fan. Now he is just a cheater and liar like Barry and Roger. See what enormous salaries gets you? The players will do anything they can to ensure that they get those salaries. So much for integrity. I applaud the minor leagues and the guys that are working for league minimum. The non-cheaters. But then again, how will we know who is which?

It is sad, yet I am still looking forward to the World Baseball Classic this spring!
