For you Baseball fans I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Last night Barry Bonds hit home run #756 in his career, passing Hank Aaron who held the record at 755 career home runs for 33 years.
Hank showed some class and sent a video congratulations which was shown on the scoreboard after Bonds hit the home run.

Congratulations to Barry!!!!

i'll remember where i was... it was about 11:58 eastern time and i was laying on my futon downstairs because i didn't feel like sleeping in my room..i was about to turn off the game when i saw barry was coming up, so i figured i'd leave it on...i almost fell asleep after the first 3 pitches then i woke myself up when it was 3-2 and the rest is history.... congrats to him, thats an achievement worthy or great recognition.... no matter if you think he used steroids or not, you have to give him credit.. i don't think most people could have endured what he did over the last 5 years and still played on the level he was... 756 - no asterisk for now or ever unless we get solid proof.... congrats barry

it sucks for giants fans that a guy going from new york to australia caught the ball... he just thought he would get tickets at the last minute and go and he ends up with history...

It's a remarkable statistic, but for some reason, my gut feeling is that he won't be wearing a Giants uniform next year :?:

congrats to him. Now to root for A-Rod.

I wonder how close Griffey would've got had he not had so many injuries?

I'm really rooting for A-Rod. It bothers me that Bonds did it chemically. It's not fair to Mr. Aaron at all. No wonder he, or anyone else for that matter, wanted to show up for Barry's big day.

probably pretty close... and as for a-rod, if he keeps pace and avoids major injuries, he should be the new home run king easily

^ as for steroids, i think he used them... he didn't "knowingly" take them as he said.... this could mean he could tell his trainer to put them in food or do it while sleeping or something so that he technically didnt do it himself, even though he did use them... but maybe he didnt, i think they need to run a polygraph test

The guy was in his late 30's, his career slowing down and suddenly he's stronger then a 20 year old. His head is 2 time larger. He gains 30 pounds in muscle mass. He starts hitting homeruns like never before. Sorry man, it doesn't work that way. He was cheating and he knew it. So was McGuire and lots of others, but that doesn't make it right to the people who earned their records without drugs to make them supermen. Without the drugs, Barry would have retired years ago.

He started using them in 98 when McGuire/Sosa had the race to 70 homeruns in a season. He saw what they did for McGuire and hopped on the steroid bus.

this article describes what he apparently used and when from the "Game of Shadows" book
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/b ... index.html

no one can disprove them, but still no one has solid evidence

Until they drag his arse to court and he has a fair trial and is convicted it is all just accusations.

i think they need a polygraph test... if he truly didn't take steroids, he would take one and prove to us all he didn't...if that turns out negative, they should do one to his trainer as well and see if he injected him with any type of steroids
