Who has been the greatest live act ever?

The best band or act you've ever seen?

The Stones, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Who, Bowie, Nirvana or someone else?

This Day in Music have just started a poll to find out. If you fancy voting for who you think should win go to http://www.thisdayinmusic.com

You can vote for any act, just go to 'other' on the list.

My favorite live guitarist would be Angus young in his younger days. Total crazy man and definite guitar hero.

As far as the whole band, Pink Floyd is definitely at the top of the list.

Best live act ever?? Here they are. As far as the "pure" live show goes, there was no one better than these guys:

Springsteen, Prince, Queen, the Who, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, U2, and ... maybe ... Pink Floyd

Here are the best hard-rock live acts of all time:
Kiss, AC/DC w/ Bon Scott, Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy, Queensryche, and Iron Maiden

For me The Who have got to be well up there. I could watch them all night, the energy they put into their performance is infectious and great songs as well.

1. Rush
2. Maiden
3. Floyd-Saw them in their later years.

In that order for me.

I just can't name one or two bands, how about if I just say Eric Clapton's
cross roads concert, the last one in the Chicago area was great, 12 hr. of guitar heaven, but if I had to make a choice it would be E.C. I've seen him more the anybody else.

Pink Floyd - Animals Tour. They played Phoenix in the late 70s and the next day there were signs all over town thanking them for a great show.

Journey and REO Speedwagon were great too.

Pure Prairie League was a good show.

Current bands I make a point to see when the come are:

Tom Petty
Kenny Chesney
Keith Urban
Sister Hazel
Edwin McCain
Kenny Loggins

Its gotta be Pink Floyd. Great musicians, pure quality sound and stunning visual effects.

For purely make you smile gigging Rod Stewart with The Faces

I saw James Brown around '69 and it was very good...he was in his prime and the band was cookin'

Little Feat w/Lowell George was also amazing!

Of late, Steely Dan, no contest!
