I've never played in front of anyone for reasons. One is because I am not that good. Two is because I use playing more as a fun down time/ therapy type of thing for myself.

I play at home now, The Bug having hit again in 1998 after years of not playing. I've sat in with a couple of proto-bands, but nothing much happened.

However, I played in public from roughly 1967 to 1976 or thereabouts. After that point "corporate life" got in the way, however I did do a few community musicals in support of music education in the 80s and was in a jazz trio briefly in 87 but couldn't devote the necessary time to it.

Most of my life has been about playing in front of people and that's where the REAL energy comes from. Don't look at yourself as "not good enough", but rather "willing to try." After all the way that I see it is..."Are you going to live your life saying WHAT IF?" 8)

I used to play with some friends. That was a long long time ago. I play at home now. I do not know anyone my age looking to start a garage band to play for fun.

No selection for me :)
I'll play anywhere I can set down a spell and be left alone :)

Haven't played live in years. I play at home and do a little home recording, too.

I have never played live before because I am not very good, but I do get a lot of enjoyment just playing for myself.

For most of my 40+ playing years, I've played live to various and assorted audiences. I've also done a goodly bit of session work and honestly can't even guess as to how many jam sessions I've been a part of.

Currently, I'm, for lack of a better word, "retired" from playing outside the confines of my house. And even though I never backed off on my playing in this self-imposed exile, I guess I'm simply content right now to entertain only my goodly self these days. Will this change? I never close any doors which have been truly exhilarating and wonderful to me over the years.

I used to play quite a lot of venues when I was in a band. I thought I hated playing live shows!

I would spend ages in dingy smelly brighton venue toilets (which never have a seat!) evacuating liquid fear before playing! Oh the dread of stage fright!

I would spend the whole gig, head down trying to play tight, and not f**k up.

BUt man - that feeling after playing, when it's all gone well, and you've played a good show, sell some CD's get paid whatever.

Sadly I had to quit when I moved house.

I really miss it!

I played in public for years but in more recent years I've just been playing and working from home.

I've played in public a couple of times but most at informal jam sessions. the scardest I have ever been in my life was sitting in with some guys while there were about 20 guitar players watching. This was first time playing outside of my home. I have been in a couple of deadly force encounter and they were not this scary. Probably becuase I am confident in my tactical skills, but not so confident in my musical skills.
