No, I don't think so. I looked it up on Wikipedia and Google, I couldn't find a decent history on Jim Dunlop Products (the pedal and music accessory manufacturer) anywhere, but I don't think they've been around longer than the '60's or '70's. The Wiki history on Dunlop rubber has a fairly decent history about them and their offshoots, no mention of Jim Dunlop there.

I always thought of that too! Nice post topic! Anyways, I figured it out not too long ago that Jim Dunlop is a company by itself. DUNLOP Performance Tires has no relationship between the two. They are companies as themselves.... :D

If I don't have a V-Pick then A Dunlop is my next choice! In fact that was all I used until I talked to Chet!

When I was in the U.S. Air force I worked on the SR-71 spy plane. I worked on the Radar system. Goodyear (yep......the tire company) designed and built that system.

I don 't get the connection with Dunlop. Or with Jim Dunlop. Goodyear built FG-1 Corsair fighter aircraft under licence from Vought (the F4U Corsair) in WWII as well, and had a aeronautical division for quite a few years. No connection with Dunlop rubber or Jim Dunlop there either. But obviously Goodyear did more than make tires. Many companies made/make more things than the items that they were/are famous or well known for.

Don't forget Yamaha PWC's (personal watercraft), and everything for Marching Band and Drum Line (they are almost as big as Oprah)

I cant find any evidence that the companies are related either so i guess it a NO. My curiosity was piqued when i drove past the original dunlop factory (fort dunlop) in my hometown i thought 'dunlop rubber...... rubber/plastic...... dunlop picks'.

Ah well. :(
