Back in the 80's I was in a band with four other guys I knew from my day job. They called themselves "The Unavoidable Break". We all worked in a computer room, and if the printer paper had a break in, it would have a sticker on it that said: "Caution, Unavoidable Break"...

Anyway, it started out as an excuse to drink. Since they already had two guitar players, I switched over to bass. The one guy dropped out, and I thought that was that, but they found a replacement. We actually got gigs... but the sound man was getting paid more than us.

When they started taking themselves seriously, I bailed and they never spoke to me again.

"Spaghetti Dinner" early 1980's

All improvisational rock
All made up "on the spot"
Never the same twice

Big Dumb Face
Formed by Wes Borland (second from left) during a temporary split from mega-selling nu-metal bores Limp Bizkit, on the basis that he wanted a better outlet for his creativity, Big Dumb Face did exactly what they said on the tin (apart from the Face bit). Pummelling guitars and goofball vocals - pitched up like chipmunks or down like grunting ogres - defined the band's sound, which some have described as a joke at the music-buyer's expense.
Weirdest track: Mighty $@!&# Laser

Hmm... Guy on the left looks very like Joe Bonamassa's current drummer...

Cheers - C
