oooohhhh....... 57twin and a good compressor. Sounds like a match made in heaven to me. Forget the boss, its compressor wont be as versatile or transparent as the mxr. There are better comp's out there not for the same money though.

We need soundclips of the DG into the mxr into the twin, then if your feeling aggressive bring the mxr round my house (10,000 miles away) and run it through the effects loop of my jcm800. The mxr is one of the few compressors that sounds great in the fx loop for rock/metal punch.

Thanks, I went ahead and bought his mxr and his new Big Muff pi and I'm thinking about selling the boss me-50. I never did like it, to many knobs to fool with on every song. So now I'm just going to use the Analogman ts-9/808 silver mod ,the muff and the mxr comp. I will need to add a chorus and a delay soon. I should have gone with stomp boxes from the start! I paid $295 for that boss! Some like some don't! I don't to much trouble!!

i'm pretty much the same mate 1 or 2 pedals for live use at the most, keep it simple and when it goes wrong theres less junk to sift through to find the problem. I never liked multieffects, they all cloud your guitar to amp sound too much.

Seems that most guitar players move to individual pedals eventually. The multi's are noisy, require too much footwork and the fx aren't as good. I really hate the lag they have too.

Enjoy it! My MXR Dyna-Comp has been the only constant in my rig for the last few years. I love it.

No doubt they all add a little flavor to the mix! I just need to dial everything in right! :)

I'm not familiar with the M-102, but +1 on the MXR dyna-comp, it's the best sounding one I've used.

Interesting... what multi fx system are you talking about? So I know which one to avoid!
I never have those problems with a Pod XT Live. I love the way it sounds, and it's great for recording direct into my computer, much quieter and easier then using pedals. FWIW, I bought the Pod after using pedals for many years, I think it's very convenient. I still have pedals, but I don't play out much anymore so they rarely get used.

I used to use a pod v2 into a poweramp for live work because of their ease of transport. It is quiet and fast. My only gripes with it was that when you add modulation and time effects the quality of the gain drops and its way too bassy on the marshall replica's. It is however excellent to record, i got through 3 cd's worth with not a single hitch.
