I have Three Great Strats, So I'd take the Tele. If I had no guitar I'd take the Strat!

Chocolate or vanilla...both have their iconic functions.

Versatility...the Strat.

Simplicity...the Tele.

Bottom line, you can't go wrong.

Or like donuts: glazed or chocolate covered?

Sprinkles or peanuts?

Old fashioned or bear claw?

Donuts!

Got some Strats, and more in the pipeline. But I only have one Tele, so obviously I'll take that.

So happens, I once had the cash in my hot sticky little hand to buy a Deluxe Tele and shopped hard for the one of my dreams - which happens to be identical to the one Snowy has (in pictures in the T-shirt thread). Same color, neck and everything. But I just couldn't find one with grain I liked, and shops wouldn't order without a commitment to buy.

So in the end I bought another Strat instead.

However, if this fella coming down the street with a Strat and Tele over his shoulder happens to be Snowy... Well, watch out!

Not a snowballs chance in hell Ceri  Although, if you ever find yourself North of the border, you're welcome to stop by and give her a workout. She really is something special, then again.... they all are!

Green with envy, Snowy. I honestly tried very hard to get that guitar. I guess you had it all along! And now that new CIJ as well! If there's one thing better than a Tele with a bound body, it's one with a double-bound body! Oh, mammy!

That's the kind of tart I really am...

Cheers - C

I would take the one that played best - could be either one seeing as how I have played strats and teles I loved as well as strats and teles I hated. But I would probably try the strat first because a strat is just the best guitar for me in general.

There's a guitar tart on the loose!!!! Lock up your cases!!!!! I'm sorry you couldn't find your Tele D Ceri, seriously. What I've found since getting in to this business is, guitars come and go. I've traded up or sold about 10 guitars in the last two years or so, which for the most part has been fun. These days however, I'm finding it very difficult. A few weeks ago I went to trade up my Les Paul Studio for a 2008 Standard. I polished her all up, stuck her in her case and made my way in to town. I sat down with the standard and played away for a while, the dude came over and asked how I liked it. She played great, and I loved her. But..... when he commented on how well my studio had been looked after, and opened the case again...... I couldn't do it. I couldn't part with her, I just sat there thinking... What am I doing? I put the standard back on the wall, appologized and explained how I felt. This dude closed the case, handed it back to me and said, " I know just how you feel man" The standard LP is gonna have to wait a few months, but I will get her. This was a new experience for me, and it's made me appreciate what I have an awful lot more.

I actually had that happen to me... Well, sort of. A good friend of mine is in managament at Fender and knew that I liked guitars. He has a great collection of one offs in a special room in his house. Anyway, he asked what Fender Guitar I would choose if I were given the choice. Well, I am a lefty and always loved the looks of a Tele. So, that was my choice. A few months later the wife and I went to his home and he handed me a gig bag with a new Tele in it. It was made in the Corona plant with prototype parts they had on the shelves there. I hadn't played any of my guitars in years but after he gave the the Tele I have been back at it. Even though it is just for my owm pleasure. So... my choice would be a Tele. But if asked again, I'd take a Strat, only because I now have a Tele. Before I leave, going back to his collection, he has a number of amps that never made production as well as some older ones that did. He's got a few Strats and others. One Strat is Gold plated and was a gift from the company for his services. Loads of accessories too. Novilty items are everywhere. He's really got some great stuff just sitting there as he doesn't even play guitars. He's been transfered from Corona to Scottsdale so who knows what he's added to the collection. I haven't seen him in a few years now.

This post is going to get me in trouble with my Mrs.

I dont have a tele, in fact - and I have just realised this- I have never handled one let alone play one.

Considering in the last 4 weeks I got my DG and Clapton Strats do you think she will let me go near a shop to find out why you all like the tele so much :) :) :)

i'd take a stratocaster, i think they look better, and Hendrix is the only motivation other that that for me to play one.
