Oh, I quite disagree. I remember Jimmy Carter. Leaving hostages in Iran, giving away the Panama Canal, another very poor economy....

Now they were tough times. Nothing good come from the Carter administration.

Bottom line on any Presidential election: you're gonna have to live with what you get until at least January, four years from now (in this case, 2013). I haven't made my mind up yet as far as who to vote for--but I WILL vote. In a month from now, it won't matter whether I voted with the majority or not. It'll be a done deal. And any campaign 'promise' by the winner is simply going to end up being a 'proposal' that probably won't make it because of God-knows-what. Just like any and every other previous election.

If I write in Ron Paul for my vote, I might as well be writing in Les Paul, it'll make the same difference. Maybe I should still get a Nader bumper sticker, just so I can P.O. BOTH major parties.

Not correct.

Calvin Coolidge / Charles G Dawes Republican 1923-1929
Herbert Clark Hoover / Charles Curtis Republican 1929-1933

Oh yeah, although he wasn't actually elected as president:

Gerald Rudolph Ford / Nelson Rockefeller Republican 1974-1977

Correct -- Gerald Ford was the only president who was NEVER elected to Pres or Vice Pres.

She has a part in that movie: An American Carol. Kinda makes one wonder if she is a conservative.

Yeah man! I wrote him in many years ago. Life's been good to him so far.
It's about time we had a guy in the White House who you'd not only want to have a beer with, but someone who knows how to totally trash a hotel room! By today's standards, that's electability right there.

Actually, YES, it's correct. The Devil is in the details! The key words are WON an ELECTION, specifically a Presidential one.

Herbert Hoover won in 1928. He did NOT win reelection in 1932. So the 1928 date is correct, as far as Presidential elections go. The factoid didn't refer to time served.

He's cool. I liked him on the Drew Carey show, too. Um, cross referencing to another topic, he used to be in Ringo Starr's 'All Starr Band', for what it's worth. I don't think he's still doing that, though.
