I just paid 3.25 this AM in Burbank, CA (Shell) and the Valero across the street was the same. The lowest I've seen in the past couple of days was 3.23 at a "no brand" station and 3.43 at a normally "highest in the area" Shell near where I live.

In Reims (France), yesterday it was :
Sans plomb 98 : 1.39€ per liter
Sans plomb 95 : 1.35€ per liter
Diesel : 1.15€ per liter.

I don't how much is it with the conversion but it's surely more than 3$ per gallon.

If I did the math right, I found a 10/17 rate of 1 Euro to 1.34 dollars and there's about 3.79 liters per gallon. So I got 1.35 X 1.34 X 3.79 = $6.86 roughly per US gallon. Most US cars use 87 octane but I'm not sure if the French ratings are equivalent. Even so and if you scale the price down in proportion, well over $3 is an understatement.

You have to remember over half there cost in gas is taxes. Some Euro Countries charge 70% tax and like Ireland on top of that they pay a VAT value added tax of 21% . So when we are paying 3.75 they may be paying the same for the gas but another 3.50 in tax charges and VAT.

Wow ! That's a big difference. It'a about twice more expensive !

Good question. If I remember, our 95 is the equivalent of the Unleashed but I'm not sure.

Hehe, indeed !

Well, even if gasoline is more expensive, my car doesn't cost me so much. It's about 45€ per month in gas, because I go to the gas station one time per month.
I've got the chance to get a job that doesn't oblige me to take my car every day.
And maybe it can seems strange but 70% of our cars works in Diesel...
