Good grief - where are you? Did you consider running your car on whiskey instead?

Anyway. A Custom Shop Stratocaster: that's what I call expensive GAS...

(C'mon, Ceri... ) - C

I live in Norway. By the way, the diesel is the same price as gas. Insane!

Hi Jommit. My late brother-in-law worked in the oil business, mostly in Norway. He spent a few years on the Troll rig - eighth wonder of the world.

I believe you have more oil per head of the population than any other country on earth, is that right? So WHY does petrol cost so much?

And while we are about it, would you or Bluestube care to explain why I had to sell my house to buy a round of drinks in a bar in Tromso? What percentage of that price is tax? Good Lord...!

Still, you have fabulous, beautiful landscape, especially in winter. And very civilised people. Can't wait to visit again...

Cheers - C

Yes it`s right that we produce a lot of oil. We are just almost 5 million people in Norway so i think you are right in your first comment:) The reason that it is so expensive is our greedy government and nothing else. 70% of the gaz price is tax, and our VAT is 25%. We may earn much money here in Norway, but it`s not much when you see how much the govenment take.

200,000 Norwegians live in London, and the tax situation has a lot to do with that. (We have Norwegian friends here.)

However, take that five day boat ride from Tromso to Bergen in February with the Northern Lights in the sky and that amazing icy Lord of the Rings landscape passing by... Who cares about taxes? Great country!

G'night, man - C

Well two days ago I said one station was 3.19 and all others were 3.45 to 3.49 then yesterday they were all around 3.15 well today some are now 2.99 around Cville and Ellicott City and five miles up the raod in Columbia and Clarksville still 3.40  who can guess the reason for that.

Well, it was about $3.30 today. They say on the news it should get below $3.00 a gallon, very soon. See? That why I never got rid of my pickup truck. I need that truck in the Sierra Mountains.

I would never get ride of my Ram either even though it only gets 12mpg. average its nice to have when you need it and that big V8. Thats why I have the other two vehicles (Accord,Civic) they get good MPG. Maybe if we get lucky we could see 2.50 again :!:

Yeah... my town, Kenai, Alaska is averaging... $4.06. This summer it was $4.75... yeah, worse than down south, but definetly not Europe... but then, Venenzuela comes in at, what, $0.14... wasn't that what it was here in the twenties or thirties?

Been going down like a rock :!: :D We can only hope they can't find an excuse to raise it for a while. Excuse example ( Hurrican, Blizzard, Global Warming, Baja California broke off and floated away)
