Still holding at 1.61 on cville Md.
Over the weekend I heard one of the dumbest things said about gas prices on TV Tom Brokaw asked if the Congrees should look at adding 2.00 or more onto the price of gas now so as to keep in high so people dont go back to buying large vehicles and bad driving habbits
I am sure he makes enough money he could care less. The people who push these stupid ideas are the ones that dont follow there own preaching most times.

I saw $1.71 (no name) and 1.76 for major brand yesterday. According to the local paper, gas is back to the level of five years ago right now.

In terms of buying cars again ... not happening here in SoCal at the moment but the culprit may be credit. Various sources (AAA, county figures, Auto dealers' association) suggest that buying interest is fairly strong. But the "credit crisis" has forced creditors to seriously tighten up the rules with the result that relatively few people are qualifying.

In one article, someone said that only about 22% of those applying for auto loans are getting approved. My big concern here: that eventually they drop the price of gas hogs enough so that people are getting approved for them long before they'd qualify for a "responsible" car. This has happened in the past when high (for the time) gas and tight credit has "forced" poor people and those with iffy credit into the bigger cars.

The other day I said on another post that gas at one station near me was 3.19 but all the others were between 3.40 to 3.49 well now today most are around 3.15 WOW  How they drop 25 to 35 cents over night I dont no. I miss the days when the gas change up or down 1, 2 , 3 cents a gal. at a time. It seems now it is like o no this is happening here gas goes up .50 then starts to go back down slow. Then now it has droped fast and I will bet 2 months from now it will go back up and we may here about heating oil shortage. Or could this present drop be due to the OPEC oil meeting breaking up early because the Saudi's walked out saying they were going to pump what ever oil is needed to help stabilize things and Hugo Chavez and Iran wanted to cut back. I read in the paper that it could mean the end to OPEC if the Saudi's pull out as they said they were! They did not like the bad mouthing from Iran's Ministers and Chavez.
you are in a good luck in my country its 6.00$!
