I didn't think it was possible to be to the right of Palin.

The only person who could be right of Palin is Jerry Falwell and he's dead.

I used to be a Republican until he party left me.

Yup, Republicans are gone and the Democrats are wildly fragmented. We need a viable third party badly.

I don't like either one. I won't vote dem, and I don't like my party's nominee (although his v.p. pick is a babe). That isn't saying that I am conservative on every issue.
Also, I don't know why the masses are so wound up about who or what party is in the white house anyway. Yes, they are the face and voice of the country, and have certian powers related to the office. But there are two legislative bodies that can override most of the president's (bad) decisions if they so choose as a collective. The system has checks and balances in place. That means, Bush bashers, that the members of the house and senate should get an equal amount of flack that the W has been getting for the past 8 years.

Its like the South Park episode picking between a douche and a turd. I'm voting for the one with the seasoned politician and an inexperienced politician...oh wait, that could be either party

I dont get caught up in labels. GOP/Republican however you want to label it is the party I chose and live by since I was 18. I dont blame the Government for the fiascal that going on know with the stock market. I blame the greedy people and those that play the market. If you lived here in Hawaii you would see how a Democrat Controlled State works and operates. I will probably never win the big money but if I did, trust me I would leave this sucky state in a second. I also dont believe in wasting my vote. Yeah, the 2 options may not be great but there is basically only 2 and one will win. Too many people suffered and died to insure that my right to vote remains therefore in respect for them I will vote and it will count. I also believe it is my patriotic duty to vote and I will. I also dont go by the conservative, liberal, right or left labels. I act and do what I believe is right and being a republican doesnt mean I have to believe in their principles or beliefs. Bottom line is, there are to many people these days that complain about anything and everything but never asert their rights. The Constitution is for us and we should adamently asert all of our rights based on our Constitution.

It's really too bad that Zippy the Pinhead isn't running.

Of course a guy might say two (four?) Pinheads are running.

Hi Cush -- Actually, I lived in Hawaii from 2002 to 2005 when I was still in the Air Force. So, yes, I agree that Linda Lingle and her cronies are worthless. Believe me, just because I can't stand John McCain doesn't mean I support Barack Obama--not by a long shot.

I notice your hometown is Kaneohe--that's Marine Corps territory. People around there understand what it means to pledge your life to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I first took that oath in 1983, and--although I no longer wear the uniform--I continue to take that oath very seriously. From that perspective, I consider both of the media-chosen candidates to be domestic enemies to the Constitution. I will not dishonor the memory of my fallen comrades by casting a vote for either one of them.

When you choose the lesser of two evils, you still choose evil.

Russianracehorse,
I fully understand your thoughts and position. I think both of our parties are disgraces and have failed and continue to fail the American people. It is a shame that our system is rigged so that there is not much of a chance for a viable third party.
The first thing we need to do is end the fiction that a corporation is an "individual" with personal rights - thus eliminating corporate lobbyists. This would give us a chance of having politicians that actually represent their individual constituents instead of being bought and paid for by corporate interests...

But as a retired Naval Officer I have very strong feeling on one point - at least John McCain wore a uniform in the service of his country. That, if nothing else, earns him my vote. That other jerk doesn't even know when to put his hand over his heart....

I generally vote Republican because no matter what any of the Politicians SAY, I have found over the last 27 years of voting and working that when we have a Democrat in office more of my paycheck gets taken out in taxes.

You want to give me a tax break? How about reducing the dam income tax.

On a side note: Universal Healthcare HECK NO. THe government already runs some healthcare and it sucks. Take a look at the Veterans Admin healthcare then check out Medicaid. Both of them are crappy. It sounds great and noble and all that but the Government does not run businesses well. That has been proven over and over and over again.
