Okay I gotta ask . . . since the case already has a comfy plush lining, what on earth is the 'satin shroud' protecting my guitar from? In 29 years of playing I can't remember ever having one of my guitars dinged once I was able to get it to the hardcase.
I'm inclined to file this one under "useless stuff guitarists buy because we like to buy stuff".
