Just make sure that you V-O-T-E
Really. I think of all the revolutionaries back in the 1700's that died fighting for it. We owe it to them. So vote McCain, Obama, Nader, or ... my personal write-in favorite ... Steve Vai.

Even if you don't know who to vote for, just VOTE!!!!!

Keeping in mind that our voter turnout is really low (40% would be breath taking) and that most of the people who vote 1) have money and 2) are educated, think how different the country's priorities would be if we had 80% turnout. Voting is your chance to decide the country's priorities.

And as far as Steve Vai goes, I'm sure he would shred anybody in a debate (sorry, stupid joke, couldn't resist...)

As Americans, we should look upon voting as a DUTY, not a right. And part of that duty is knowing who you are voting for and what they stand for.

"People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote - a very different thing." ~Walter H. Judd

Nope. The process will only improve by engaging the most people, regardless of anything...

Who knows? Maybe the Fender Lounge Forum will be the "difference maker"??

Get out there, people!!!!

I disagree with the premise. Many people who vote haven't a clue about what the issues are. They just react to sound bites heard within the two weeks or so prior to the election. Better that they don't vote, and let those of us who are informed do the heavy lifting in society.

If you're not voting for the candidate that I am voting for I would prefer you to stay home.

+1000!

A vote cast in ignorance is far worse than no vote at all.

At least this time none of the candidates have a little brother in office down here in Florida to help them steal the election.

I don't understand how that happens. There are pleny of ways to get information on candidates before casting your ballot and anyone who argues they "don't have the time" or whatever is just being lazy. My 2 cents on that one.

Because most people only know what they see on TV - which bears no relation whatsoever to reality. Anybody who thinks they are getting anything resembling the true pictures of the issues or the candidates from TV, newspapers, or news magazines is deluded.
