Has anyone tried this little amp ? I was surprised at the tone and volume it puts out for an amp that size. I bought one to take along when I travel cause its very light and due to a bad back injury I have to be careful what I lift, especially while loading the car. It`s not a gig amp, but for home practice or using outdoors where there`s no power source its pretty good. Was wondering how other people felt about this little gorilla.

I did a jazz cocktail gig with a group in which the guitarist used one. He had a second gig after our set, so he used it to speed up the load out.

It might be OK for home use, but your correct, it definitely is not designed for live use. It sounded very thin in comparison to the rest of the band. It wasn't a loud group, it was just out of its context.

I have not heard it, though what about the Fender Amp Can?

If it does not need to battery powered, what about the Fender Champion 600?

I have the Roland MicroCube myself. I like it a lot.

I also have a Danelectro HoneyTone, which is even smaller!

And I have a Vox AC30 plug amp, which is the smallest of all...

So my MicroCube is actually my "big" amp.

To be honest, I'm not crazy about it. I find the tone to be very buzzy. I bought it for $40, and I think the Danelectro HoneyTone is a much better buy at $20. The Vox does have the advantage of being very small, but I personally don't like the tone. I recommend trying it before you buy. Hope this helps.

We got an AC30 Amplug for a road trip and I like it very much. It sounds good and is nicely adjustable, all things considered. I don't use it much at home, because I use a Cube 30x there, but I do use it occasionally when I want to go downstairs and play.

I have the Vox classic rock plug, it's very handy. I had a micro spider amp for a few months, it was pretty cool too.

A buddy of mine has one and let me try it. It sounded really good even at high level. I personally have a vox valvetronix 30 watt(which is messed up) and a Fender Stage 160.

I just remembered, I had an Orange micro amp too. Sadly I blew it up  It was a pretty cool little amp though, and very portable. Not in the same leauge as the Roland I guess, just thought I would share

I have the Cube30 and I absolutely love it for practicing, etc. It's easy to get good sounds at low levels & thats what its all about.

Sure I have a boutique amp collection that sounds way better , way loud, but when it comes to the writing process it's hard to beat this little amp!

The built in effects are pretty decent for a general idea of where to go with a song in my opinion.

Sorry guys.
I had a Roland Cube, didnt get on with it all, tone wasnt good enough.
I then made the ridiculous mistake of getting a Line 6 which was even worse.
I've come to a personal conclusion that digital = no thanks.
Was going to try the amplug but never got round to it, i've seen good and bad reviews depending on whicj one you got.
I've been thinking of getting the JamVox which has a small speaker and modelling software.
Anybody tried ??

I've used to Cube, but every few days, the announcers use a micro cube to play music on the intercom through the school through the CD jack. It is very clear, and I was impressed when I learned that that was what they used.

I've been thinking of getting the Vox AC-30 plug. How do you like it? What does it sound like? Is it tinny, or does it sound like a decent amp with the headphones?
