My bird flew out of the window. She flew for blocks, and then I found her, and mom came, and she stood there for over and hour calling to her and yelling to her to get down. SHe flew around a little, but never came down. We left her because it was getting late... and i swore that i'd come back tomorrow if she was still there...

It's a good thing it's not raining or cold.

Just thought i had to share... with anyone :(

That sucks. But it brings to mind that old saying "If you love something set it free"

It doesn't lessen to sorrow.

cockatiel. if i spelled that right. Not the most brilliant bird, but this (quite surprising) has happened before (about eight times... i have lost count) and her record is staying outside overnight under pouring rain and waking up the next day to be found. This is yet a new high for her. Still, very sad because i had to leave her there and go home.

(Sorry if this sounds like a statistic, but it is: she flew out in the day several times, out the window and on my dad's shoulder when he wasn't looking, and this is the second time at night. SHe doesn't learn.)

My parents have a Cockatiel. That thing flew out the door one day and was gone for four days and then showed back up. My mother was a complete mess during that time.

Have u found her? good luck!

Maybe u can hang a bird feeder (like a ball of bird seed outside)
from a tree & hope she comes back to get some food!
Maybe u will get lucky.

A friend of mine lost her African Grey, she called the local paper and made people aware. A week later he was found, alive and well. He was wolf whistling some girls  , but they remembered the article and called the paper. Make everyone in the area aware if you can, good luck finding your bird.

Tell me that you've got everything you want, and your bird can sing.
Hope you get your bird back.

[quote="hendrixfan99"] It's tough when one is bonded to an animal companion like that. They're easy to love and difficult to lose and we have a responsibility to them in that regard because some cannot really be considered domesticated and others, seemingly so, may surprise you.

I wish you well on the return of your friend. :(

:( I'm sorry, dude...

We had about 4-5 different cockatiels, I think 3 of them flew away,
the other 1 or 2 died somehow, cool birds, a bit noisy though.
Hope you find your bird!
