I have to say both. Fender for clean & overdrive, and Marshall for distortion. I'm not very big into effect pedals.

So, witch one did you vote for?

Well,
I own 3 Fender amps and only one Marshall, so I voted Fender.

Out of the 3 choices, FENDER for sure. I have quite an amp collection, but it's hard to pass by the Fender Twin RI I have. I put JBL speakers in it too, it's just a beautiful tone.

For loud & clean, this thing is the champion. You can see pics and hear it at www.soultostrings.com

Good to see lots of other Fender amp fans here!

Enjoy,
STS

Fender and Mesa Boogie.

Mesa Boogies actually started from Fenders. Randall Smith used to mod old Fender amps and started making his own amps based off what he kept modding.

I have two amps. Both Fenders. Although I've been looking at a Line 6 Spider amp, lately.

'01 Cyber-Twin (bought used in '06) and '03 Vetta I HD/ 412 (closeout) have been flicked on a bunch. Average; one or the other slightly more than once a day.

Admittedly, 'do not have Ritchie Fliegler's or Blackie Pagano's incredible sense of ears, so the multi-amp-amps are quite fine for this picker. That said, 99% of playing is clean, so other than RV / Tremolo / (lite) echo, one does hear the amp's tone, not squeal-screech-C3PO with droid severe gastic distress cacophony of distortion devices.

After this period of ownership, the L6 gets 4X the use of the C-T. Primary reason; the C-T is noisier. There's a big sodium-vapor streetlamp about a hundred feet away and the TV in the next room is on a lot.

The Vetta's '58 Bassman is preferred to Fender's on the C-T, and not only by this writer. C-T's '65 Deluxe Reverband Vibro-King are simply beautiful and the Hang 10 surf setting a joy
.
Vetta's Matchless Chieftain and Boogie I work really well for some guitars and pieces of music.

Match point goes to the L6 Vetta, but the C-T is a keeper as well.

At the moment Hughes & Kettner Special Edition Tube and Peavey Studio Pro 112, Line 6 Pod 2.0 and Native Instruments Guitar Rig Software.

Cheers :D

I also really like the handwired Marshall's. They have so much sound that just rumbles through them. Plus, they look sweeeeeet! :P

Trace Elliot. Biggest mistake was to sell mine. I like my Hartke head and the KMD cab, but the Trace was getting me more money at the time I needed some, so I sold the Trace instead.

Marshall, Laney, Vox and anything British.

I like a few Fender models - mainly Bassmans but as a Hendrix and Blackmore fan I'm down with "British" tones...

1.Fender
2.Marshall
3.L6

I choose Fender over these two, but I can understand why some would pick a Marshall Half-Stack. In the 80's that was IT. For a certain type of distortion, the half stack ruled and Marshall's have their own voice. There were no modelling amps. The Line 6, IMHO, sounds overproscessed. Although I hhaven't tried their Bogner high end amps yet.

I think VOX and Orange Amps would score well on this poll... to my ear, they are really closer in sounds, more comparable to Fender.

You guys who don't like Line-6...Listen up! Line-6 20 watt combo amps suck, I know, but go to your music store and try the larger Line-6 amp. They are great because they have all the pedals and stuff built right into them, so they are decent amps for the price range guys! Try them! :P
