Dave Gilmour obsessives should switch on the tv this friday in the Uk.
Most of the night on BBC4 is either Gimour or Pink Floyd and I also I believe he is performing live on Jools Holland on BBC2

Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure I set my timer :)

Saw the performance, I am not a fan so I was not impressed at all.
I just wondered why he used a '52 tele for most of the performance rather that his much hyped new signature strat?

The Jools Holland show, right? He used the Tele for one number: it was clearly set up for slide. And he used the Black Strat for the other.

Far as I know, he still uses the real Black Strat, is that right? He doesn't use his guitar's own replica, as Andy Summers does - does he?

I must admit, the show didn't set me on fire. But at one moment it looked like he was actually going to cry when they were talking about Rick Wright. Even hard-nosed old Gilmour has some emotions after all! (Apart from the barely supressed fury every time Roger Waters' name is mentioned, that is...)

Cheers - C

on the original recording Syd Barrett used a tele, and that is why Gilmour was using one.....

Just to mention another upcoming TV program most people here won't be able to watch... Sunday, 10.20, BBC1 in the UK: The Story of the Guitar.

No idea what it'll be like, but plenty of nice footage on the trailer, to the sound of Gilmour playing - who else?
