I just posted it in an amp area of this forum, but since I hang out here more, just wanted to say, I was looking for an inexpensive practice amp, tried several, wanted a Fender that had reverb, was light, was not too much expense, and would be fun. I was leaning toward Fender on this.

Well yesterday I hit a couple of music store sales, seeing what they had. I'd checked out a G-Dec Junior before and liked it. The price was in my range, and went along with my total budget to get a practice amp and a guitar--so I got an Ibanez archtop and a G-Dec Junior--been having lots of fun with it.

I know it's a practice amp---but that's what I got this for.

Nice amp--and nice to add to my Fender gear.

Hello Zontar,

Those G-Dec's are fun,
many is the day I'd like to
take one home with me.

Maybe one day.

Cheers.

I really like the clean channels on the G-DEC Jr. but the overdrive channels are, well, not so hot in my opinion. I also think the lack of EQ control makes things harder. But for a simple practice amp, whats to expect?

I just can't wait till my birthday, that's when I get a REAL amp. :D

I have a real amp as well--this one is easy to move around--and has the loops for jamming with.

I'm having fun with it.

One of the reasons I went with the G-Dec over say, a Roland, is the clean sound. On the G-Dec Jr--excellent--on the Roland--okay, but not as good.

The first Fender amps had no tone controls--because there's one on the guitar!

Any way--I have effects as well--so this isn't to replace them--but to supplement them--and to simplify playing at home--in any room.

As for Gamma & Judau--I hope you get good amps, and enjoy them as well. Hopefully you can try some different ones out with your own guitars, and find ones that fit what you want.

I'll often use my Gdec jr. for the rhythm section. I like to play a lot of different rhythm styles and have the Chicago syncopated rhythm, the shuffle, as well as the 4/4 blues rock rhythm that is more common. It's part of playing the Blues - Rhythm and Blues. The syncopated rhythms for example in BB King are what makes Blues the first cousin to Jazz, and opens the music up to its challenge, interest and beauty. My guitar is not plugged into the Gdecjr. but is running through my Blues junior, for that terrific Blues Junior tone. It's a lot of fun to jam with another player using both as well.

I've been using those loops way more than I thought I would--but they're just so much fun--and you sound great through it.

I also plugged my Mustang in today for some Fender through Fender sound. Worked great on the second Tweed setting.

Been thinking of buying a guitar amp lately. Was looking at a Line 6, Spider III, 2X12. I won't get the Line 6 until I get something together.......as in a band...(already have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. But also looking at the G-deck for practice and other things.

I have a grandson who's started to play, and I was thinking that I don't have two practice amps to make it work, if I want to play with him. So.....just lately, thinking of the G-Dec.

Many possibilities--especially if I add in other effects.

Although some of the amp choices don't really work for me, but I knew that when I test drove it at the store.
