Dude your the one who brought Him (Jesus) into this.

I'm as light as I can be my friend, no anger at all, I have peace.

If your going to discuss Jesus, why are you so fired up when I talk about Him too ????

try some of this on for a bit, here is Jesus' own words.

"Broad is the way that leads to distruction, Narrow is the way that leads to life."

Just imagine if you tried your cute pictures and questions on that other religon, you might have to hide out.

I hold no mallace towards you at all, Jesus should be left out of this forum and it was you that brought Him here.

We talk about a great deal of things here on the forum. Musical interests, cars, cancer and chemotherapy, and many others. Everyone has their own opinion on things.
I asked a simple and easy question. Yeah, it could be a touchy subject for some, but that is not what it should be. It is a question to make you think about your perception of Jesus, whatever it may be, and then imagine him with an instrument. What would it be? Everyone else seems to comprehend the question. You're the one who came in here with your post late last night slinging righteousness and a holier than though attitude.

You are the one who gets fired up at things, be it someone talking about Jesus or a girl in bathing suit.

If I were to guess I would say an antique accoustic that was worn to the wood, but it would sound magical.

I, too, have been watching this thread and waiting for it to make the inevitable transition from humor to hurt feelings. We're at that point now and although the original intent of the post was clearly intended in good-spirited fun, it's simply not worth it to me to keep the thread open -- there are plenty of other topics out there from which to derive humor. Not locking just this instant but my mouse is hovering over the 'Thread Lock' button ...

Brad, only 1 person that brought out the ugly on this forum. Everyone else seem to see the question as being lighthearted question about Jesus. I took it merely as Jesus from south of the border. So I took it to a whole 'nother level, with out being offensive I don't think.

Brad, your restraint is admirable.

Subjects such as this stimulate a number of emotions and reactions.

Likely it would it be safer to do a thread of, "What would Joe Sebastain Bach play?"

Or "What would Vincent Van Gogh play?"

Bach wouldn't play a guitar. He would play a white 1965 Hammond B-3 with four Leslie cabinets.

(Phew - less controversial territory!)

As it happens, Bach played the violin as well as keyboards, and in performances of the Brandenburg Concertos (concerti, if you must) he played the viola. I'm sure he'd have grabbed a Strat at the first opportunity.

On the other hand, I'm not convinced it would have been a good idea. Anyone remember the classical guitarist John Williams doing a "rock" version of the Toccata and Fugue in the late '70s? Euwgh... :?

Cheers - C

I think nikininja is the closest so far...
Quote:
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. (Revelation 1: 10-11)

But He also sings...
Quote:
The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)

He also wants you to write original songs and put in some serious practice time on your stringed instrument so you're technique doesn't suck. ;)
Quote:
Praise the LORD with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy. (Psalm 33: 2-3)

And please lighten up on blues bondsman. Those of us who honor Jesus as God do not intentionally speak casually about Him but that doesn't necessarily mean that we can't appreciate the humor in this topic. Because of that fact, if a christian injects a little dose of sobriety into a basically silly subject it is not fair to try to misrepresent that as being judgmental or anything. Speculation about Jesus is one thing but there are documents that describe what he was like in reality.

Interesting topic - and some very interesting posts.

I wouldn't want to be Brad right about now. (or was it then?)

Oh well ..... :?

I just hope He (Jesus) likes the sounds I make on my guitars. I don't have any idea what instrument He would play - or maybe does play. (strings, or maybe a horn of some kind?)

But whatever it is - If He wants to jump in and jam along - He's more than welcome from my point of view. That would be some more jam session.

Now that idea of Jesus with a Strat - that's one I hadn't thought of until it was mentioned.

:D :D :D :D

Ok ..... I got it  I got it ....

How about harps?!?!?

Not just the stringed kind ... but also a blues harp (harmonica)

And maybe through a bullet mic into a blues junior?

Now wouldn't THAT be some more music!!! 8)

" .. oh i want to be in that number, when the Lord comes marchin' in ..."

(I know ... it's supposed to 'when the saints' ... but we've been speculating about Jesus) 8)
