Has anyone modified a hard shell case to fit a different guitar?

Over in the Squier forum, we've been discusing the lack of a hard shell case for the Squier Esprit. This lead me to the idea of modifying a case's foam to fit a different guitar.

The main thing to look out for would be finding a shell that is large enough to house both the guitar and protective foam. However:

What type of foam would work the best?

Floarist and upholstery type foams came to my mind.

What do you think? Have you done it?

When I see the "replays" then no one do that.

When the inlays fits for every guitar, you will have no passform anymore and each guitar is more or less loose in the case. Or you create inner pass peaces to each guitar...but be creative, maybe you invent a new solution...
Go on and send a foto with your results.

Best wishes

cheers :D

Consider getting in touch with G&G. They may build what you want to spec. You're going to get, at least, what they build for Fender, o perhaps better.

There are also other aftermarket makers out there.
