coming home from school - it was Friday afternoon and my mother telling
me she just heard Jimi Hendrix had died. Needless to say I was bummed out - I still have the newspaper from 38 years ago. :(

Senderkik, Happy Anniversary.

Jimi, R.I.P.

I will never forget an interview he did with Mike Douglas. Mike stated that Jimi's Star Spangled Banner playing was unorthodox. Jimi looked genuinely shocked and replied "What? I thought it was beautiful!" After which he got a roaring round of applause.

Indeed it was Jimi! He was a member of the 101st Airborne too.

I still think Jimi's version of the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock is the most far out  guitar playing I have ever heard - probably the greatest string bending & tremolo display ever 8) - it almost transcends the word music - it just is. :!:

And 68 years ago, Hitler postponed indefinitely the invasion of Britain. Whether it was cumulative aircraft losses to the Luftwaffe or his well-known fear of the sea, German ground forces would not attempt to cross the English Channel.

The "Second Armada" would not be fought.

Happy Annivesary and 'hope Jimi is enjoying the next realm, repectively.

R.I.P. to my greatest inspiration.

Too bad I don't have a show till Saturday. I'd like to to a tribute but tonight I'm guest starring with a funk/hip hop crossover band, so a Hendrix tribute would seem out of place.

I'll be channeling my respect on every note I play regardless.
