I think GC needs to take a cue from the mall and add a waiting room to their store design. You know how if you walk through the mall, you see benches outside the lady stores so the guys won't be in there messing up business?

Two reasons why having my wife accompany me was a good idea:

1994: PRS CE24 Bolt-on: Whale blue, QMT with gold hardware

2004: Gibson LP CS Elegant: Triburst QMT. An aside on this guitar. I didn't take it away the first time in. She went back the next day and purchased it..negotiating a really good price. In fact, the salesperson asked her if she could use another husband.

I didn't pick 'em out.....she did!!! I didn't buy them....she did!!!

It was almost the same as...."Hey Uncle Owen!!" "What about this one??"

"Yeah! Yeah!...We'll take this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :P

Wife's not fond of guitar stores, to use really, really serious British understatement. No clothes, purses, shoes, jewelry of interest to her.

Wild_Rose, I would never "drag" my wife anywhere and she dosen't have to drag me, I go to be with her and she goes to be with me.

Thats after 12 years of marriage (as of next month).

I go to the scrap book stores with her and in fact I now have two scrap books of my own making and they are full of cool guitar and band pictures from my past, some day my kids will have something to show my life and my passions.

I am sorry to hear of folks living lives with such friction and lack of love and respect for one another, lifes too short to live like that !!!

Let me think, "guitar or girlfriend, guitar or girlfriend, guitar or girlfriend, guitar or girlfriend, guitar or girlfriend, guitar or girlfriend ..." HELP!

I remember reading an article with some guitar rock in which he said his girlfriend was complaining about all the time he spent with his guitar instead of her. He told her not to make him choose one or the other because she'd come out the loser. Wish I could remember who that was.

boy toy! actually i am jealous[/quote]:

The CE 24 went towards a Johnny Hiland Model in Aug '07.

The LP sits in the case most of the time. The Strats are out.

Honestly, problem with these 'Ferrari's is that you don't want to drive them they way they should be for fear of being car-jacked. Plus, the finish on the LP is so nice that one fears scratching it.

If I were out 'gigging' again I'd likely take the one which best suited the venue and keep an MIM Standard on the side for anything raunchy.

My wife knew what she was getting into 30 years ago, so she has nobody to blame but herself. :)

Actually, there is a craft / hobby / fabric store next to the Sam Ash here in Nashville. I tell her to take as much time in there as she wants.

The Guitar Center in Evansville has a similar set-up. She went in to look at stuff for my daughter's wedding, and I went into the GC. After a while, I went to retrieve her. I walked up and whispered that I needed $1000. When she asked why, I told her that I dropped a bass in the Guitar Center, and they were going to make me pay for it. A woman next to her gasped. She looked at me and said "I know you're just trying to get another guitar out of this. You're fooling noone."

Well, apparently noone except the lady next to her. I should have asked HER for the money.
