i KNOW i'm not the only one has done this, but does anybody notice how a LOT of girlfriends are pretty much dragged into guitar center or music stores by their musician boyfriends. These girls look soooooooooo BORED while we rock out on a few riffs on guitars, and i feel really bad about that.

i guess it wouldn't be bad if my girlfriend played guitar too, but every girl i've dated has no idea how to play guitar or was never really enthusiastic about it.

since then, i have learned to NEVER to bring my girlfriend to guitar center EVER!!! heh heh

save yourself the trouble and don't bring girlfriends to guitar center (unless they play guitar too, that is!!!)

p.s. where are you girls that play guitar too?!?!?! hah hah

Another important reason why I don't have a girlfriend...

Although there are also probably reasons I DON'T have a girlfriend too.

funny, girlfriends and wives drag us all over creation to do their shopping with them, but we take them into GC for 5 minutes and wham, they get all pissy. Theres a lot of kick $@! stuff to look at it do in there, I dont understand how anyone gets bored, especially when they can look at 5000 of the same blouse in different colors and love it, buy it, return it, then buy it again.

But then some of us find just the right one and life is good !!!!!!!!!!

I go guitar shopping with my wife and I'm the one saying I really don't need it and she is there saying your the Man, you have a job if you want it take it home.

I know you guys think I'm telling stories, but after nearly twelve years of marriage, I got it made !

Man, I wouldnt go back to being single again for nothing.

And when I play at home and the notes are working, she comes in and just smiles so big, she is my biggest fan for sure.

I agree with your thought -- right on the mark. While my girlfriend probably wouldn't ordinarily go into a music store with me (volume levels more than the concept of doing it), I never lack for an audience once I get the gear home. Nothing like having a #1 fan who, even if she can't play a note, sure can appreciate the ones you're playing.

And to be completely fair: she has braved the music store a couple of times around Christmas time or my birthday ... alone ... !!! You really have to take the hat off to a 58 year old non-musician woman going into a GC on a Saturday afternoon :D

Two reasons why having my wife accompany me was a good idea:

1994: PRS CE24 Bolt-on: Whale blue, QMT with gold hardware

2004: Gibson LP CS Elegant: Triburst QMT. An aside on this guitar. I didn't take it away the first time in. She went back the next day and purchased it..negotiating a really good price. In fact, the salesperson asked her if she could use another husband.

I didn't pick 'em out.....she did!!! I didn't buy them....she did!!!

It was almost the same as...."Hey Uncle Owen!!" "What about this one??"

"Yeah! Yeah!...We'll take this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :P

Mine has no interest, but dives in the car when I am heading to a music shop.
Mostly to stop me from bringing home more "stuff".

Apparently our house has somehow suddenly become too full to be tastefully decorated, and can not hold more stuff.  :?

My lovely wife is how I ended up with not one but two limited edition 50th ann. strats.

She bought me the deluxe and the AMSE with the 50th goodies.

I never fell in love with the Deluxe and let it go, the AMSE as you can see by my info is my #1 and the nicest Strat I have ever had in my hands.

nice 40th B-day present, don't ya think !!!!!

Next year she got me on of the tooled leather Fender cases.

I have gone through ten tube amps at the very least, looking for my tone.

Is there a secret to this happiness ??? yep, be the Man, earn respect , dont demand it, treat her like a lady !!!!!

Forget the hollywood idea of what a relationship is all about, its all a fantasy and it never works.

Today is my 4th wedding anniversary, and when I went in to buy my Strat, my beautiful wife came with me and made me play about ten other guitars, even though I had already picked out my Std strat. She just wanted to make sure it was the one I wanted. Women often have a different viewpoint on the whole GAS situation. I told her recently that I wanted a Blues Jr. and she was somewhat down with it.

My wife has put up with me for 24 years. She will often go to the music stores with me. When she can't she takes my checkbook and credit card jsut to be sure I can't act on any crazy GAS attacks. She also send my seven year old daughter with me to be sure I won't spend more that 2 or three hours there. My seven year old loves to go to the music stores and behaves very well while we are there.
