I did that back in my college and post-college years. I collected about 500 of what people consider the "best" literature, but I'm only about half-way through them. Each year I seem to have less and less time to read.

My late wife collected books, we have 17 bookshelves in the house all stuffed full, not to mention boxes of books everywhere. She could not bear to part with a book after reading it. Could not risk letting her go to the library...

I collect ball caps (started with military unit ones) and knives (mostly pocket knives).

Pint beer glasses! I've traveled around the country and years ago, I was in some restaurant that had a really cool beer glass with their own logo (not that of any beer brand). I liked it and so asked the waitress if I could buy it. "No one has ever asked," she said, "so I don't know. Let me ask the manager ...".

A few minutes of negotiating later the manager and I reached a deal and I had my glass. Nowadays, lots of pubs, restaurants and other venues have glasses for sale, but this was 25 or so years ago and I don't know if it was as common then. At any rate, ever since, any time I'm in some place with a logo glass other than just a beer brand (though I have those too), I have to get the glass.

Thus, my beer glass shelf is sort of a travelogue of my life!

Of course, I also collect guitars - what a surprise for this forum!

- 2006 Black American standard strat
- 2001 sunburst Tele
- ???? (recent) MIM 72 repro Thinline
- 1998 DeArmond/Guild
- 1997 Guild D150X
- Early 90s Fender Gemini II acoustic
- 1972 Fender Mustang (my 2nd guitar, bought new)
(** I was in active bands from the mid-60s to late 70s and then went on to a "real" job. I got back into playing "just because" around 1996 and I've picked up a few axes since then :D

And in basses

- 1998 P-bass fretless
- 2007 J-bass 5 string MIM
- 2007 Gibson SG repro
- 2005 acoustic/electric
- 2008 Ocean fretless 4 (a GC return I got for almost a steal)

Post some photos of your collections, beer cans, Hot Wheels cars, business cards, Legos, or whatever else.

Based on my username you can guess that as a KISS fan for 30 years I've stocked up on a few items. Here's a photo or two of that collection, not all inclusive but alot of it.

Ticket stubs, etc

That is an impressive collection. It reminds me of The Simpsons episode where they discovered Flanders was a Beatlemaniac and had a shrine of collectables in his basement.

I once had a lot of Beer mugs too. I remember even making some beer mugs in a ceramics class, when I was in the military (for weekend drinking binges with friends-Lots of drinking going on in the military). Ok....I know.....ceramics class kinda takes away from manhood. But I have an excuse. My buddy in the military had a wife who talked us all into going to the class with her. (Hope every one bought that excuse)
