I heard a little bit of one song on Imus in The Morning show the other day. Sounded basically like all of their older stuff. Not bad, could probably grow on you, you know how it is when you hear a new song just for a few seconds. If you are a AC/DC fan you will like it! 8)

Yes, heard it at their website.
It sound, I guess, Like most other AC/DC tracks. The same formula etc - pure and simple rock n roll

I am definitly looking foward to the tour though. I have never seen them, although I did have a ticket to see them in 1990(1?) on the Razors Edge tour but gave my ticket away to a friend, who was desperate to see them. The show was in the Point Depot, Dublin. Subsequently, a track was used from the show on their AC/DC Live album, which appeared after the tour.

Too bad you missed it. I like the majority of thier stuff. The guitar player is so small that he makes that SG look huge. He sure knows how to handle it though!

AC/DC's two best works were -- head and shoulders -- Let There Be Rock and Powerage. This is when AC/DC were at their creative peak musically and lyrically. Alot of people will say "Highway to Hell" but as a whole, I never thought this was even close to their two previous studio efforts. Also, "Back In Black" is a very strong album with outstanding songwriting throughout. This is the olny Brian Johnson-era album I will even listen to, and (in my opinion) was their last great work.

Contrary to what most people think, Bon Scott was a very good lyricist. I think that is what is missing from AC/DC with Brian Johnson. While Bon had something to sing about, Brian seems caught up in tired rocker lyrical cliches. The perfect example is Bon's "What's Next To the Moon?" -- the lyrics of that song are miles above anything Brian Johnson is capable of writing.

Just my opinion...

I just heard the new song at the posted website and it's just okay. Of course, it does sound like all their other stuff. But as far as I'm concerned, their other stuff is far better than most junk out there. It's a basic hard rock formula that just works at the most elemental rock level. I love Angus' lead work, but I think that Malcolm's classic riff-writing and solid rhythm guitar doesn't get enough attention.

But, man, are the boys looking dated. I hate to be superficially judgemental, but they look like they're stuck in an 80's timewarp if this photo on Spin's website is current:

Get rid of the school uniform already, Angus, you look like an old clown.

I loved AC/DC when I was a kid. I saw them live once and angus is amazing.

But the last recording I heard the singer sounded horrible. I even remember at the concert he couldn't sing to save his life and forgot most of the words anyhow, I can't imagine he got much better.

But i'll give it a chance (like I did with the new motley crew)..dissapointing.

But then again I am one of those people that change with the times more or less..I enjoyed all my influences (angus, areosmith,SRV, hendrix, zepplin, RHCP) but don't sound like them when I play. Now if I could only get my guitar player to understand that we might actually sound original.lol

Surprising. Typically, AC/DC has always been known for being a very good live act. I have seen them on two tours (both with Brian, including their last tour). For both shows, they were spot on ... and definitely earned their money.

Well I guess it's possible..I think I was on acid for that show..lol But I do remember I was amazed that angus could play those fast solos very accurately while jumping and climbing all over the place and doing the "curly" thing on the floor in circles..it was impressive.

And you gotta admit that SG sounds good.

I heard that song on the Radio, but couldn't remember what it was like.

It's playing right now from that web site. It's classic AC/DC sounding stuff!
