It was a sad day and one that should never be forgotten.

We watched a video in our government class today. It still always gives me chills when I see the angle from the fire ladder about a block away. Extremely saddening. I also live about 20 minutes from Shanksville, where U93 crashed.

It is a day to honor those that lost loved ones as well as the loved ones themselves.

I apologize if my post caused anyone disturbance.

peace&love, -Ryan

I was too young to understand what was going on when it happened.
I was only ten years old. All I remember is seeing the towers on every channel. I was thinking, "Why is it on all the channels? Planes crash every once in a while, don't they?"

I was so small and confused. I think we were let out of school after the news was spread.

This spectacular yet grim event, as seen from the view to the west, was witnessed by me personally, from a vantage point not too far north of the Twin Towers that morning, as we watched the drama unfold literally from the beginning.

It was heralded by the sound of an all too low flying aircraft passing directly over the roof top of the building I still work in, which stands on Sixth Avenue between Grand and Watts in lower Manhattan, not far from what is known now as "Ground Zero'

It remains every bit as real to me every morning, as it was then, seven years ago today.

Never again!!

Doc

Hmm... I was sleeping/getting ready for school. It was 8:00 and I was in 3rd grade. Later that day, our computer teacher, Mr. Palm, told us what had happened, and we were like :?: :( ...

I also remember that the night before, I had a bloody nose.

Unfortunately U.S. politics are inextricably a part of this. There is truly a party platform association here:
1) Unquestionably, the Democrat party is the party of capitulation and weak national defense.
2) The Republican party seems to take a more reasoned approach, at least in deeds.

I would like to see the Democrat party change in this regard. The methods that were tried, and which failed tragically in the Carter and Clinton administrations, and which are being proposed again by our next president Obama, are going to accomplish nothing but getting us attacked again regularly.

Send a letter to the Democrat politicians in your state asking for a commitment to a strong national defense. This shouldn't be a partisan issue, but it certainly is.

Remembrance is as remembrance does.

I'm a day late on this one, but since I was not near a computer i guess it is fine:

I was going into my metals class in high school preparing to make a mold when my shop teacher informed us of the news.
